Bright and sunny are the words that come to mind looking at the fresh new upholstery on the chairs on the outdoor patio .

The chairs are the same design and color as before — yellow — but some of the worn seats have been replaced with new upholstery.

A closer comparison of the chairs shows how dirty and scuffed the old upholstery was on the left compared to the fresh look of the chair on the right.

A fresh new update for the New Year is exactly what these chairs needed.

We have been reporting on areas around Walt Disney World that are in need of some attention, such as the “its a small world” boats and monorails. Seeing the positive changes since, like the boats being cleaned and cleanup underway on Space Mountain, we hopefully can look forward to more positive updates around here. Many of the stores and attractions around Walt Disney World could use some sprucing up, that’s no secret. So when we see bright, clean updates, we take notice! Uptown Jewelers was no exception.

The new carpet is traditional, yet fresh, with shades of pink and burgundy with light blue and mint accents in a scroll design.

A large, octagonal center design is the perfect focal point for a fine jewelry case.

This is a closer look at the detail and color of the intricate design.

As you can see, the colors in the new carpet align nicely with pink in the displays cases.

This isn’t the first carpet replacement in recent months, just about a month ago we saw a new themed carpet installed at Tower Hotel Gifts within The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and a giant new carpet was recently installed outside the Disneyland Hotel entrance across the country.

New Morocco Pavilion Henna Tattoo Art Station

You can find Henna artists next to Lamps of Wonder, which houses the Princess Jasmine (and sometimes Aladdin) meet and greet.

In the image above, the art of Henna is explained.

It reads, “The traditional art of Henna in Morocco and other parts of the world dates back thousands of years. In the Moroccan culture, Henna tattoos are a traditional way that Moroccan women beautify their hands and feet for special occasions, as a symbol of good luck, and to bring joy. Whether simple or intricate, Moroccan henna designs and styles can vary from one part of the country to another.

Before a Henna design can be created, Henna leaves are crushed into a fine powder, mixed with water to make a paste, and then the Henna paste is applied to the skin. As the Henna paste dries, the solution penetrates the outermost layer of skin, leaving a reddish-brown stain or “tattoo.” Typically, the larger the Henna paste remains on the skin, the deeper the color of the tattoo. As the skin naturally exfoliates, the Henna tattoo gradually fades. Most people can expect their Henna design to last 1-4 weeks.

In the city of Morocco often heard is the phrase, ‘“‘Where there is joy, there is Henna.‘”

A metal tower displays the Henna designs that you can choose from.

Most designs are $35. The old henna art at the pavilion had prices starting at $15.

After you choose your Henna design, artists begin transforming your skin into a work of art.

The Art of Henna

Henna used to be available at The Art of Henna in the Morocco pavilion, but it hasn’t been open since March 2020, when the parks closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, the pavilion was primarily operated by a third party — Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant, LLC, who were responsible for the restaurants and stores. The company filed for a $1-2 million Paycheck Protection Program Loan.

That September, Disney filed a UCC Financing Statement claiming collateral against the Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant company. Shortly thereafter, management reportedly began emptying offices and most of the long-time chefs at the restaurant were let go with no severance pay, including those that were just a year or two away from retirement.

Disney Takeover of the Morocco Pavilion

By late October, it was announced that Walt Disney World would be assuming operations of all Morocco Pavilion businesses at EPCOT, including all food & beverage and merchandise locations. The majority of the pavilion closed for refurbishment in December 2020. Since then, operations have been reduced. Tangierine Café is being used as a Festival food location and Restaurant Marrakesh is a seating area.

Many refurbishments have happened since then and changes have been made around the pavilion. The main courtyard and fountain underwent a two-month refurbishment and received new tiling, pavement, lighting, and more. Spice Road Table reopened with a revamped menu. A fan-favorite photo op was replaced, small theming elements were added, and the bathrooms received improvements.

As the final months of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary begin to wind down, one final collection to celebrate this milestone, has debuted. The Grand Finale Collection is just that, grand! We found this 50th Anniversary Grand Finale ornament at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom.

Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Grand Finale Collection Ornament – $24.99

One side of the 50th Grand Finale Ornament features our favorite mouse couple in their 50th Anniversary best. Mickey and Minnie’s shoes are a gold glitter, as well as Minnie’s bow, with fireworks exploding in the rich, blue background. Surrounding the pair are park icons and some classic, endearing attractions, such as the Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth and of course, Cinderella Castle.

The other side of the ornament has the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary logo with fireworks surrounding the castle on the same rich, blue background as the other side.

But wait! There’s more! You don’t have to pick a side to display, the center medallion spins so that each side can be easily shown.

The ornament has an iridescent ribbon for displaying the ornament.

An updated Disney Vacation Club billboard has zoomed in to Walt Disney World Resort! Even though we have reported that the iconic DVC billboard van had recently been repainted, there’s a new surprise! Silhouettes of some favorite characters can now be seen in the windows of the van.

While Goofy is driving the van and Pluto can be seen poking his head out of the back window, now we can see the passengers in the windows. Minnie, Mickey, Daisy and Donald’s silhouettes can be clearly seen in the passenger windows.

A new Mickey Mouse and Pluto youth Spirit Jersey now available at Disneyland Resort! We found this fabulously cute Spirit Jersey at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom.

Mickey Mouse and Pluto Youth Spirit Jersey – $54.99

The athletic gray Spirit Jersey features the main mouse himself, Mickey, front and center and quite large! On the upper left chest is the Disneyland “D” and “EST. 1958.”

Spirit Jerseys are quite popular at all of the Disney Parks. Recently, there have been some fantastic Jerseys released such as the Fluffy Pink Spirit Jersey at Disneyland and the Retro 1960’s Spirit Jersey, as well.

The construction walls are finally down at Tomorrowland Light and Power Co.! As previously reported, Disney stated that Tomorrowland Light and Power Co., which has been closed since August of 2022, would reopen on December 11, 2022. December 11 came and went, with no reopening. However, now we can see that the construction walls are down!

As you can see, the walls are down but now there are rolling hedges surrounding the front corner of the building. Also of note, there is a security guard in front of the building with a sign between the planters stating no photography.

We don’t have an updated opening date for this staple shop in Tomorrowland but we will keep you updated as information is released.

Fluffy and colorful “cotton candy” adorns this minion’s head on the front of this soft, velvety backpack.

Poofy pom-poms can be found on the zipper pull of both the front pocket and the main compartment.

Inside the bright blue main compartment is another pocket.

Kevin is selfie-ready, holding a bright pink cotton candy and sporting a cotton candy mustache. The collar and cuffs are Minion yellow.

This belt bag has a pink nylon strap, and a yellow zipper, with an all-over tie dye in the colors of Stuart’s cotton candy.

Who says cotton candy is just for eating? This Minion doesn’t! Not only is he chomping on some cotton candy, but he’s also wearing it as a hat!

Bob must really be craving sweets — look at the size of that swirly lollipop!

The white, short-sleeve shirt has ruffled cuffs.

Shiny confetti-like circles surround Kevin on the top bag. On the second bag, Stuart is covered in cotton candy, while Bob has lollipops over his goggles.

This cropped sweatshirt is a lighter tie dye than the other items in this collection, with soft shades of pink and blue.

This poor guy seems to have had a problem with his chewing gum.

This poncho is its own bag for convenient storage. Once you unzip the pouch, you can unfold the poncho.

Similar to the nightgown, a pink sleep set is available. It’s trimmed in lace and showcases Minnie and her dots on the front. This time, Minnie has an orange bow perched at an angle. The bottoms are also trimmed in lace with “Minnie” in block lettering through a silver circle on the leg.

Disneyland Paris 30th Anniversary “Minnie Paris” Cardigan Sweater – $59.99

The last item we found is an ivory, elastic waist sweater. This sweater doesn’t have Minnie herself featured, but instead just her name and the 30th logo on the back of the sweater.

It has ribbed sleeves and disc buttons down the front.

Peach Embroidered Ear Headband – $34.99

The ears and headband are covered with satiny peach fabric.

A fluffy ivory bow sits in the middle, evoking thoughts of springtime flowers.

Shades of pink and mint green are the dominant colors throughout the embroidered flowers and Minnie bow that decorate each ear.

Encircling the border of each ear is a string of white pearlescent beads.

The back of each ear has the same design as the front but are not embroidered; rather, the design is printed.

Earlier this month we spotted similar ears at Disneyland Resort.

Animated Mickey Snow Wand – $32.86

This “snow” wand is a Christmas bubble wand. The top is in the shape of a snowy Mickey head with a Santa hat. When activated, Mickey’s face lights up, and sings “Deck the Halls.” His face uses “Talk Tech” to sing along, and the lighting sequence changes colors and patterns.

The bubbles come out of the top of the hat. The bottom teal bauble is where the bubble liquid is stored. It holds 3.04 fluid ounces.

The red handle features a geometric snowflake design. The translucent stem features Mickey and Pluto. The wand uses 4 AA batteries, which are included.

This snow wand is also available on shopDisney and at Disneyland Resort.

Holiday Crocs – $64.99

Next up on the holiday merchandise trail are these holiday Crocs. The artwork features Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Chip, and Dale against the eggnog colored background. These are part of the Mickey Mouse Vintage Christmas collection.

The inside of these festive Crocs are lined with fleece to keep your toes toasty this holiday season.

The bottoms feature a light tread.

Set of 4 Holiday Tumblers – $39.99

Speaking of eggnog, these holiday tumblers are the perfect vessel in which to serve a holiday beverage. They come as a set of four. Each tumbler features a different character in their winterwear, including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto.

The tumblers are glass and they are neither microwave nor dishwasher safe.

Milk and Cookies for Santa Set – $29.99

This vintage inspired set is turquoise blue with art reminiscent of a snowy Christmas day. Pluto and Chip and Dale frolic among the snowflakes and ride candy cane reindeer. The accompanying glass is a throwback to the days of milk bottles with Mickey “Delivering Holiday Cheer.” As a bonus, a red and white striped straw is included.

Gingerbread and peppermint Mickey’s adorn the red box, with a ribbon printed right on for easy gift giving.

Mickey Mouse Icon Holiday Dessert Glass – $14.99

These dessert glasses are encircled with a string of colorful lights. Decorative red bows and green sprigs of holly are accented with little red Mickey “berries.”

The design can be seen through the stemmed glass.
