Artist Jeff Granito was born and raised in Southern California. In 1994 he graduated with a BFA in graphic design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Going on 16 years, Jeff enjoys working from his home office with his golden retriever Sutter at his feet. Jeff is honored to be an Artist in Residence at Disneyland Resort’s WonderGround Gallery, creating one-of-a-kind pieces, giclées, and support merchandise.

First up is a set of four glasses. Bith musicians from Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes cantina band, Han Solo, a Storm Trooper and Obi-Wan Kenobi are pictured here.

The full cantina scene is pictured on the top of the packaging.

Additional characters, including Chewbacca and Luke Skywalker, are part of the featured artwork used on this merchandise.

A pillow in this collection reads “Take Me to the Cantina” and has printed images alongside stars and the Millennium Falcon. The border and the cantina lettering are embroidered.

A decorative throw blanket comes tied up with a bow.

The blanket also features textured corners and tassels, similar to the pillow.

Mickey Mouse Ears Hat – $24.99

Han Solo, Greedo, and Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes decorate the front of this Mickey Mouse Ears hat.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2 and two Jawas are featured on the back.

The controversial scene between Han Solo and Greedo is featured on most of this merchandise.

The Star Wars Trading Post is a store designed after a hidden Resistance base from the “Star Wars” universe. Disney describes it as follows:

Spot Rey’s iconic speeder outside the entrance to this new shop, inspired by the look and feel of a hidden jungle Resistance base. Once inside, you’ll uncover an exciting variety of authentic “Star Wars” merchandise—from “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” gear to novelties inspired by “The Mandalorian.”

This line launched as part of the Disney Parks celebration of “Star Wars” month, and much of it is also available at Walt Disney World Resort in Hollywood Studios.

Harry Potter Quidditch Plush Bear – $40

This new plush bear is a tan color and is very soft to the touch. He wears a maroon and golden Gryffindor Quidditch robe. A blue tag with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is attached to his left paw.

The hood fits over his head and ears.

It can also be worn draped behind him.

The hood comes to a point and is lined with golden yellow.

The robe can be removed, revealing the bear’s matching outfit beneath.

He wears little black shorts and a red and yellow striped t-shirt.

A Gryffindor crest patch is sewn to the front of his robe.

Velcro attaches the hood around his neck.

The Harry Potter logotype is embroidered on the bottom of his paw. This is the second bear in this collection.

Collectible Harry Potter Bears

The first bear in the collectible Harry Potter bear collection featured a similar bear with a different outfit. Still tan and covered in soft plush, this bear wore a navy blue Weasley sweater with a golden “H” in the center.

He was available in the parks last October and bore the same Harry Potter embroidery on his bottom paw but in dark blue.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter features a variety of shops, eateries, and attractions based on the beloved franchise. The complete Harry Potter experience is currently situated in two different lands at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, as Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, respectively.

The Hogwarts Express is available for guests to hop aboard as a way to travel between the two lands. This slow-moving train ride immerses visitors in the world of Harry Potter as they move from one park to another aboard the famous, magical train. Familiar characters’ silhouettes and voices can be seen and heard outside each train car. In addition, the scenery from around Hogwarts can be seen from the train’s windows via screens.

Guests are not required to use the train to travel between parks, but it’s an experience every Harry Potter fan will want to enjoy at least once. Note that a valid park-to-park ticket or Annual Pass is required to ride the Hogwarts Express.

Refurbishment Complete on Popcorn Stand

The popcorn stand in World Discovery is now open to guests, no longer surrounded by construction walls and privacy planters. The stand is located in directly across from the MISSION: Space attraction. The refurbishment took about two months to complete.

When we first reported the construction back at the beginning of March 2023, the metal bars below the curved red and silver structure were colored blue. Now, we can see that they have been painted silver to match the roof of the stand.

The stand’s base has also been painted with a geometric pattern reminiscent of Spaceship Earth. Mickey pretzels and popcorn can be seen on display on either side of the stand. Cotton candy is arranged in bags atop the soda fountain machine in the back.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” Skyliner popcorn bucket is still available for purchase at this popcorn stand. The stand also refills popcorn buckets for a slight discount; a standard popcorn purchase is $6.50, and a refill is $2.25. The souvenir bucket with popcorn is $13.00.

Other Construction at EPCOT

Plenty of construction is underway at EPCOT with the ComminiCore Hall Construction, Journey of Water Inspired by Moana construction, and the start of the removal of the Harmonious barges.

Harmonious Barge Removal

Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct shared photos of Harmonious barges being demolished backstage at EPCOT. Two of the taco-shaped barges, plus the circular “stargate” barge, have now been removed from World Showcase Lagoon. The final performance of Harmonious was on April 2, and the first barge was gone as of April 10.

Communicore Hall Construction

The new CommuniCore Hall and Plaza will serve as a multi-functional space that will be used during the park’s various festivals. The hall will be home to a Mickey & Friends meet and greet, a demo kitchen, a mixology bar, a gallery space, and more. Disney has stated this space will be used for a variety of festival offerings at EPCOT throughout the year.

Journey of Water Inspired by Moana Construction

According to CEO Bob Iger, Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” is the last step in the years-long EPCOT reimagining. It’s expected to open later this year, along with Dreamer’s Point, CommuniCore Hall, and CommuniCore Plaza.

New Signs Completed at San Fransokyo Square

Signs continue to undergo changes at Pacific Wharf at Disney California Adventure in the Disneyland Resort. The land continues its theming transition to the City of San Fransokyo, from Disney’s 2014 animated film “Big Hero 6.” Construction is already well underway, and this most recent development shows continued progress on the project.

Much of the construction scaffolding has come down as changes on the Pacific Wharf signage continue to reach completion. Previously, the entire façade was covered with scaffolding to assist Cast Members in the area’s transformation.

Last year at D23 Expo 2022, it was announced Pacific Wharf, a small mini-land of restaurants at Disney California Adventure based on San Francisco, would be reimagined to San Fransokyo, from “Big Hero 6.” Construction for the project officially began in January.

The Japanese lettering on Kruger’s Net Repair were also recently added. We reported on this during last week’s update. Take a look here.

Right now, Pacific Wharf is considered by many as the park’s food court, with a number of restaurants residing in this small area. The transformation is expected to bring changes to this section of the park, though no new rides have been announced.

A painted image of Mochi and Japanese lettering was added here just a week ago at the end of April. Mochi is the Japanese Bobtail cat that lives with Hiro and Cass in “Big Hero 6.”

Themed notices have been painted and attached to the main façade in other locations, too. The San Fransokyo Gate Bridge also recently reopened to guests following a several-week transformation.

No “Big Hero 6” attraction is currently planned for the area, but you can experience The Happy Ride with Baymax if you’re headed to Tokyo Disneyland.

This wall currently reads: “San Fransokyo Proud Home of” and a blank space beneath. What do you think should go here? We’d love to see you comment your ideas below this article.

Many changes have already been completed on this area’s façade.

Signs include promotions for the Wharfside Travel Agency, Pacific Seafoods, Bait & Tackle, Kruger’s Net Repair, Cocina Cucamonga and a The San Fransokyo Canning Company.

A few of the signs are still unfinished, and scaffolding remains in place to complete these pieces.

The new Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería draws inspiration from its tri-cultural influences with signage in English, Japanese, and Spanish. Outside will be a fun and inviting beer garden decorated with festoon lights and papel picado.

This sign was previously the “Pacific Wharf Canning Company.” Many changes are taking place to transform this area into the themed space for “Big Hero 6.”

The Pacific Wharf is a popular stop for guests to grab a bite to eat.

Japanese lettering was added to this Cast Member only location. It reads “Do Not Enter.”

While there has not been an official announcement yet, the new lettering on this sign suggests the bakery tour will return. The Japanese lettering below reads: “Bakery Tour.”

Carrie Fisher Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Carrie Fisher received her posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, May 4. She was most famous for playing princess and general Leia Organa in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, revisiting the role in the more recent films as well. Family, friends, and fans gathered in Hollywood for the event.

Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, both participated in the award event and played a role in the “Star Wars” universe. On Thursday, she accepted the star on her mother’s behalf. Previously, she also played Resistance Lt. Connix alongside her mother in the final Skywalker saga films.

According to Star Wars news, Lourd remembered realizing the intense and widespread affection Carrie Fisher’s fans had for her mother and the famous character she played, Princess Leia, while attending a “Star Wars” convention as a child.

“It was the first time I realized how widespread and deep people’s love for Leia was,” she said. “People waited in line for hours just to meet her. People had tattoos of her. People named their children after her. People had stories of how she saved their lives. It was a side of my mom I had never seen before and it was magical.”

Mark Hamill also attended the event. He is known best for playing Luke Skywalker and receiving multiple awards and nominations for voice acting performances across different media, including animated show series and video games. He received his star in 2018 for his outstanding work.

“Today, May the 4th be Carrie Frances Fisher Day,” Hamill said at the start of the ceremony, which was also attended by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams, the director of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

Hamill and Lourd both made comments on Fisher in life. Hamill recalled she “was so charming, so funny, so adorable, so wise beyond her years, and brutally frank.”

May the 4th

May 4 is considered Star Wars Day because “May the 4th” sounds like “May the Force (be with you).” It’s celebrated annually by “Star Wars” fans and now Disney and Lucasfilm. At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it’s called Black Spire Day, honoring the founding of the Batuu outpost.

This year’s May the 4th collection was released on shopDisney in April and is now available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. New Black Spire Outpost tees were also released.

New Campus Commons for Universal Orlando Team Members

Universal Orlando Team Member Life on Instagram released new concept renderings for the Campus Commons planned for completion during the second half of 2024. This facility is designed to increase comfort and provide amenities to the Universal Orlando Resort Team Members.

The facility is an all-in-one location designed by by Universal Creative. It will include places to socialize, enjoy a meal, visit Team Member Services, shop at U-Shop or stop at the bank. Construction fences are reported to go up on May 15.

The new campus will include access to multiple facilities limited just to Team Member use. Amongst these is revamping the Backlot Bistro to modernize the space and include additional seating.

The campus is intended to give Team Members a place to recharge and take care of themselves backstage.

Both indoor and outdoor areas will be available for Team Members to enjoy. The current plan includes functional and thoughtful outdoor spaces to help Universal Orlando Resort employees relax and destress.

Universal Orlando Resort has recently been working on increasing quality of life for team members, including renovating currently available spaces for employees in several areas around the resort and increasing starting pay for many of the workers.

The official statement on the campus reads as follows:

There are so many great things happening across our resort, and we’re excited to share this first look at our new UO Team Member Campus Commons, set to open in the second half of 2024! Designed by our colleagues in Universal Creative, our new campus hub will be an all-in-one location where our Team Members can have a meal, socialize, shop, and take advantage of other services. The project will include an all-new Team Member dining location with modern décor, expanded seating, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces.

“The Campus Commons will be a wonderful facility for current and future Team Members,” shared Karen Irwin (President & COO), adding that the facility builds on our Team Member-first culture. “There truly has never been a better time to be a part of this team with so many incredible things happening, and so many more on the horizon.”

More Epic Changes to Come

Universal’s Epic Universe, the newest theme park under construction in Orlando, is racing toward a projected summer 2025 grand opening. The new Team Member Campus Commons should be completed before the park is completed.

While details on nighttime spectaculars are not yet apparent here either, it’s very likely that the thin, protruding peninsula on the lake toward the far back of the picture will be utilized for fireworks launches. Elaborate special effects will have fewer restrictions farther out from the older and more clustered city neighborhoods, and while the primary campus for Universal Orlando Resort may be feeling a bit cramped these days, over at this site, Universal is playing with land larger than their Studios park, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk combined.

Two New Foals at Tri-Circle-D Ranch

Two adorable new members have joined the herd at Tri-Circle-D Ranch near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at Walt Disney World, named Sprout and Finn.

Pictured above is Finn, one of the two new babies at the ranch.

He is a Shetland pony foal and features brown and white markings, with a predominantly white mane.

Sprout is the second of the two foals, born on Earth Day and named for this special coincidence. He is also a Shetland pony.

He looks like he’s ready to explore his new home.

Doctor Mark at Disney shared the following about the foals:

Our ranch hands have had some extra fun on their hands lately! Over the last two months, we’ve welcome Finn and Sprout, the two newest Shetland pony foals to join the herd at Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Sprout was born on Earth Day and was named after the celebration! He’s the second pony to be born this year, joining one-month-old, Finn.

These two independent and inquisitive foals join the nearly 90 horses at Tri-Circle-D Ranch, who delight our guests each and every day through pony and horseback trail rides, wagon rides and private carriage rides. 

Tri-Circle-D Ranch

The Tri-Circle-D Ranch is a horse ranch located near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Guests visiting the ranch may enjoy pony rides as a walk-in experience or book trail rides in advance. Guests may also book a carriage ride year-round, or a sleigh ride excursion during the holiday season.

Disney describes the ranch as home to more than 90 of the “Happiest Horses on Earth:”

Stroll through the stable to visit Cinderella’s Ponies and the majestic horses of Main Street, U.S.A.. Discover the Dragon Calliope—the horse-drawn musical instrument that Walt Disney purchased for the Mickey Mouse Club Circus Parade at Disneyland Park in the 1950s.

Disney Cruise Line Anniversary Song

The Disney Cruise Line 25th Silver Anniversary at Sea theme song, “Shimmering Seas” is being released to streaming platforms around the world beginning today.

The song was released at the end of March and was written by Michelle Zarlenga. This artist also wrote the Disney Vacation Club song, “Where We Belong (Welcome Home)”

Disney Cruise Line Silver Anniversary at Sea

The Disney Cruise Line Silver Anniversary at Sea celebrates the cruise line’s 25 years in business. Castaway Club by Disney Cruise Line

Frequent sailors also reap benefits with the Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club. There are four levels of membership granted to guests based on the number of sailings they’ve completed, including the new Pearl Member recently introduced to the program. As guests complete additional sailings with Disney Cruise Line, they are able to book trips and experiences further in advance, allowing them reservation preference over other guests for specific sailing dates and cruise activities. Disney Cruise Line 25th Anniversary Key Cards

The new room key is a teal and white repeating gradient with guest information printed in black. The information includes the ship name, sailing dates, the guest’s name, and the current Castaway Club level. Our Tom Corless is currently a Silver-level member.

The current itinerary for Silver Anniversary at Sea sailings is as follows:

• Departing from Miami May 24 to Sept. 4, the Disney Magic will visit destinations in the Bahamas and Caribbean, including Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. 
• The Disney Wonder will depart on Alaskan voyages from Vancouver, Canada May 15 to Sept. 11, with stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and more. 
• From May 7 to Sept. 17, the Disney Dream will sail transatlantic and European itineraries, including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Greek Isles.
• The Disney Fantasy will set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida May 6 to Sept. 2 to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, each with a day at Castaway Cay.
• Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, will depart on sailings to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay May 1 to Sept. 8 from Port Canaveral.

Pricing for the Silver Anniversary at Sea sailings starts at $2,502 for two guests on a 3-night Bahamian cruise from Miami, and ranges to $11,263 for two guests on an 11-night Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruise from Civitavecchia, ending in Barcelona. These prices are for the lowest-priced cabin on board, an interior stateroom with a “Magical Porthole” showing real-time ocean views and animated Disney characters. Prices increase for Oceanview, Verandah, or Concierge room options.

Castaway Club by Disney Cruise Line

Frequent sailors also reap benefits with the Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club. There are four levels of membership granted to guests based on the number of sailings they’ve completed. Take a look at the graphic below for details on each level.

As guests complete additional sailings with Disney Cruise Line, they are able to book trips and experiences further in advance, allowing them reservation preference over other guests for specific sailing dates and cruise activities. Later levels also grant a complimentary high-end meal and a digital photo package.

The menu sign outlines pricing for each of the treats. Let’s take a closer look at each one.

Tropical Whoopie Pie – $9

This Tropical Whoopie Pie is shaped to look like Grogu’s head from the beloved character in “The Mandalorian.”

Grogu’s ears are adhered to the treat via the frosting layer in the middle.

Galaxy Macaron Box – $20

These macarons come in a gift box with a purple or silver bow attached.

The macarons are speckled with “stars.”

A tag for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is also attached to the box.

Falcon Lollipop – $6

These lollipops are shaped like the Millennium Falcon, “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.”

Each lollipop is individually wrapped in clear cellophane.

A small white bow decorates the treat.

We’re not sure what flavor this is, but it’ll make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

Star Wars Sugar Cookie – $9

A trio of treats is displayed together. On the left is a Star Wars sugar cookie.

This is a large, circular sugar cookie with frosting and sprinkles decorating a space scene behind the “Star Wars” logotype. An X-Wing fighter jet also sits atop the treat.

It is topped with a purple satin bow.

Wookie Cookie – $9

These cookies are also individually wrapped in cellophane.

Topped with chocolate sprinkles and a decorative candy piece, this cookie is sure to please.

It sits atop a gold foil cardboard piece to help keep it from breaking.

Pretzel Lightsabers – $15

A package of candy-dipped pretzels come in blue, green, and red.

No need to choose which side you ally with when enjoying these pretzels. There’s plenty to share, too.

The package is topped with a silver bow.

Storm Trooper Crisped Rice Treat – $9

If you enjoy the prepackaged crisped rice treats found around Disney properties, you may enjoy this offering.

The dessert features an image of a Storm Trooper holding a blaster pistol on a white background.

The treat is covered with black sprinkles and topped with a black bow.

A layer of white frosting sits atop the confection.

The Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite is galactic-themed for guests, with four “nites” where visitors can live their own epic “Star Wars” adventure. According to the official description, guests will:  

• Be wowed watching “Star Wars: Celebrate the Nite”  as fireworks illuminate the skies above Disneyland park. This pyrotechnic spectacle is set to the powerful music of “Star Wars” films.
• Prepare for Captain Phasma and her Stormtroopers during the March of the First Order in Tomorrowland, as they search for a Resistance spy.
• You may encounter travelers across the galaxy like Tusken Raiders and Jawas. 
• Get ready to master a lightsaber! Attend the Lightsaber Instructional demonstration, where you will learn to handle a lightsaber through a series of elite moves, sure to bring out your inner Jedi!
• Picture yourself in dynamic photo backdrops featuring some of the galaxy’s favorite heroes and villains, captured by Disney PhotoPass photographers at the party.
• Explore themed snacks such as galactic churros and other out-of-this-world sweets!
• Begin your adventure with pre-party mix-in admission to Disneyland park starting at 6 p.m., no theme park reservation required.

Ginger Lime Soju Drink – $17

Soju, Minute Maid Lemonade, Gold Peak Unsweetened Iced Tea, habanero lime and ginger flavors topped with matcha foam

We’ll start with the drink. It’s interesting.

The garnish on top is made with a new matcha foam and reminds us of grass; it has a really earthy flavor to it that makes a nice picture, but doesn’t add a lot flavor-wise. It’s not bad.

The drink itself is subtle at first, but after a good stir, the soju pairs well with the lemonade. This makes for a citrusy drink that is light and refreshing. The ginger is barely noticeable; it reminds us of a mix between a mule and an Arnold Palmer with green foam on top.

It is a nice serving size for the price compared to some of the other options here.

Five Blossom Bread with Mustard Cream – $10.50

Warm Pretzel Knot, Creamy Honey Mustard Dip

The five blossom bread is fantastic. We’ve had it before and loved it. The pretzel bread is served warm and is a bit chewy, like a good pretzel, but soft enough to not be an issue. The black salt also adds a bit of texture and taste.

The new feature of this dish is the sauce the bread is served with. We are glad to report that the creamy mustard dip is amazing. There’s a generous portion. It has a strong mustard flavor, but it isn’t too spicy or overpowering, and it pairs well with the hearty bread. 

It’s a nice creamy texture with a few mustard grains on top and makes a fantastic snack at Oga’s Cantina. We would come back for this.

Temple Root Leaf and Moss Salad With Seasoned Gwayo Egg – $15.49

Sweet-Savory Salad Greens, Brined Vegetables, Roasted Mushrooms, Fried Potato Noodles, Soy-Marinated Soft-Boiled Egg

This Grogu sipper can be found at Galactic Grill in Disneyland Park.

Overall we liked this. It’s nice to have some lighter options in the park. The eggs are perfectly boiled, and the soy sauce on them adds a good salty flavor to the eggs without being overpowering.

The salad is well dressed with a bit of heat, but overall it’s a nice Asian style dressing that was very refreshing.

The veggies were all very fresh and crispy, and the mushrooms were great at adding a meat-like texture (coming from someone who doesn’t love mushrooms).

The only disappointing part was the fried potato noodles that were not crispy. They tasted stale with no flavor. 

We liked the saltiness of the soy-marinated, soft-boiled egg.

Other than the disappointing potato noodles, this dish is a solid option for those looking for something lighter while at Disneyland.

Flume Construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Several changes are taking place within the flume portion of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

It looks like crew members have started to scrape away at the edging here. We’re not sure what the plan is — perhaps more decorative rockwork, or simply a refresh of what’s currently there.

The scraped material along the edge is clearly visible here. Plastic sheeting has been added to this curve in the flume as well. The plastic may be here to keep debris out of the vents while work is completed on the edging.

Most of the area has been painted, but detail work will likely continue.

The rockwork on the left side is now completely painted to match the attraction.

The track here has also been replaced since the transformation began.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure invites guests to embark on a thrilling voyage, influenced by the beloved film, “The Princess and the Frog.” It picks up where the story concluded and includes many of the characters from the movie.

According to the official release, Disney states guests will “join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis during Mardi Gras season as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration for the people of New Orleans.” The story will feature Louis and a few other good friends enjoying zydeco, a musical fusion of rhythm and blues native to Louisiana.

The new attraction will take place inside Tiana’s Foods, a co-op that helps provide food for the community. Founded in 1927 by Tiana, the co-op is located within a salt mine, where cultivators grow crops along the former path of Splash Mountain’s waters. Visitors will ascend to the co-op through a mill house that is constructed into the mountainside, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Louisiana bayou.

Offering limited-time entertainment, culinary experiences and special merchandise, guests aboard one of these silver sailings can enjoy exclusive access to a variety of Disney Cruise Line treats and events.

Disney describes the anniversary celebration event as follows:

It’s our quarter-century anniversary, and we’re pulling out all the stops, complete with new offerings and shimmering decorations across our entire fleet of ships. Come join our magical celebration this summer and get ready to kick up your heels with beloved Disney Characters like Captains Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, all decked out in their sparkly best—sailing select dates from May through September 2023 only.

Kat Saka’s Kettle in Galaxy’s Edge

We opted to try the Surabat Valley Mix, the Niamos Mix with Furikake, and the new Jellyfruit Muffin.

Surabat Valley Mix – $6.99

Sweet Kettle Popcorn

The Surabat Valley Mix is just general kettle corn, as the description states. It’s very lightly coated and we actually wanted it a bit more sweet as it’s weakly flavored compared to your run-of-the-mill kettle corn.

Overall, this is a solid option for those who like kettle corn.

The mix is named after the Surabat River Valley, located near Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. Filled with a trecherous maze of spires, the valley is named after Ariana Surabat, who was the first settler to arrive on Batuu. The spires were rich with the golden lichen, the harvesting of which is controlled by Oga Garra.

Niamos Mix With Furikake – $6.99

Sour Cream and Chive Popcorn

The Niamos Mix was our favorite. We opted for furikake, and that adds a bit of saltiness to set this over the top.

The overall taste reminds us of Sour Cream and Chive Lays potato chips but in the best possible way. The popcorn is fresh, and the flavors make for a terrific salty snack on the go for your travels through Batuu.

The mix is named for Niamos, a planet that debuted first in “Andor.” Cassian Andor settled there after the Aldhani mission to lay low and enjoy the tropical climate.

Furikake is a dry Japanese condiment sprinkled on top of cooked rice, vegetables, fish, or used as an ingredient in onigiri. It is usually made of a mixture of dried fish, sesame seeds, chopped seaweed, sugar, salt, and monosodium glutamate (MSG), but the ingredients listed were slightly different here. There is no MSG listed.

Jellyfruit Muffin – $6.99

Passion Fruit and Buttermilk Muffin with Pineapple and Blackberry Jam

This muffin is new to Kat Saka’s Kettle as well.

We thought this muffin was weird. It is certainly bright and looks like something that could be found in the “Star Wars” universe.

It’s a decent size, but the taste is interesting. At first, it just tastes artificial. It tastes like “blue.”

Jellyfruit is a new introduction to the “Star Wars” canon, having just made a first appearance in “Young Jedi Adventures: Jedi Training,” a childrens’ book that was released today. The book is based on the upcoming “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” series. For more Young Jedi Adventures May the 4th fun, guests can try the Tanoo Swirl Crunchies Cereal Drink at the Milk Stand or take a picture with the photo op at Downtown Disney District.

As we continued to taste this, we noticed notes of blackberry and then, finally, pineapple.

The buttermilk gives it a hefty texture.

The passion fruit flavor just overlays everything with a general fruitiness. 

If you like interesting fruit flavors and don’t mind blue food coloring, then give this a go. Otherwise, we would skip this.
