On a recent visit, we noticed some work taking place on the entrance sign for Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park at Walt Disney World.

An array of scaffolding has been erected around the sign at the main entrance to the Blizzard Beach parking lot. A handful of traffic cones can be seen sitting around the perimeter at the base of the structure.
The digital sign is still in operation, alternating between a few messages including “BLIZZARD BEACH IS CLOSED”, “FOR REFURBISHMENT”, “SKI YA AT TYPHOON LAGOON”, and a notice of hours for the on-site minigolf course, “Winter Summerland 10am – 10pm”.

Notably, the sign’s text elements have been completely removed along with the park’s mascot, Ice Gator. Some panels comprising the background art of the sign also appear to have been removed or damaged and awaiting repair. You can see one affected area above and to the left of the “THIS WAY” sign.

For comparison, below is an example of how the sign previously looked while the park was in operation last year.

Disney has not made an official announcement regarding changes to the signage or branding for Blizzard Beach. Given the schedule for the park’s ongoing, typical seasonal closure, we suspect the refurbishment work on the sign is indicative of standard maintenance and cleaning efforts.
Blizzard Beach closed back in September 2025, while its counterpart, Typhoon Lagoon, has remained open since. Both parks were open for the summer season in 2025 – the first time they had seen simultaneous operation since 2019.
Typhoon Lagoon is set to close on February 14, 2026. Blizzard Beach will be opening the following day, February 15, as the parks spend the winter and early spring months alternating operation for routine refurbishment.
