The official Star Wars Facebook announced that a new digital collectible card game (CCG) is currently in development.

The news was shared on the official Star Wars Facebook page:

We are excited to announce we are working with Zero36 Studio and CCG Lab to develop a brand-new digital collectible card game where players can battle across the Star Wars galaxy.

Stay tuned for future updates.

Zero36 Studio is owned by ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, and has developed several popular mobile games, while CCG Lab specializes in developing IP-based digital CCGs using a proprietary engine.

Star Wars Card Games

The upcoming Star Wars digital CCG isn’t the franchise’s first foray into the card game space. Star Wars: Unlimited, a physical trading card game (TCG) from Fantasy Flight Games, was introduced in 2024. It has had six expansions since its inception, with three more slated for 2026.

TCGs and CCGs

TCGs and CCGs revolve around deckbuilding and card battles, with several different systems now available. Most use similar mechanics to Magic: The Gathering, which came out in 1993 and is wildly popular to this day. Disney even has its own TCG, Disney Lorcana, developed with Ravensburger, that has had several expansions and in-park events with exclusive cards.
