X user and aerial photographer @bioreconstruct recently flew over Universal Volcano Bay and spotted a small work site just beyond the perimeters of the water park.
Volcano Bay

According to the Universal Volcano Bay page, the water park began a seasonal closure lasting from October 26, 2026 to February 2026. Due to colder temps, Volcano Bay was also closed for Veteran’s Day earlier this year. It usually closes on select dates in the winter due to cold weather.
It has also been announced that Universal Volcano Bay will be closed for maintenance beginning October 26, 2026, with a current planned reopening on or before March 24, 2027.

While we are still a little less than a year from that 5-month closure, there is already some work happening behind the scenes.

Courtesy of @bioreconstruct, we can see a small patch of land has been fenced in just behind the lazy river and a set of cabana units. We do not currently know what this work is for, but some dirt work and small construction equipment has arrived.

Volcano Bay is Universal Orlando Resort’s tropical-themed water park. Earlier this year, we experienced Volcano Bay Nights, which is returning for 2026.Read about our experiences and check out the video below:
