Percy Jackson and the Olympians have arrived in Fortnite on a new island inspired by Camp Half-Blood and the Sea of Monsters.

Percy Jackson Fortnite Island

Disney Parks Blog provided a preview of the new Percy Jackson island, available to play today, December 9, in Fortnite. The island is inspired by season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which sees Percy braving the Sea of Monsters in search of the legendary Golden Fleece.

In Fortnite, players arrive at Camp Half-Blood, claim a bunk, and meet Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, among other campers. They’ll tell you where you should venture and give you quests to complete.

The island is extensive, filled with forests teeming with animals, a mountain with lava waterfalls, and recognizable landmarks and Easter eggs throughout. You’ll also find and collect drachmas, which are used to buy weapons at the armory and level up at the forge.

As players progress, they’ll encounter and fight legendary boss monsters, including the Minotaur, who fittingly appears in his tighty-whities.

Finally, as you play, your divine heritage will eventually reveal itself through a special quest and you’ll learn what kind of demigod you really are.

But that’s not the end of your hero’s journey — there’s plenty of replayability options, and you’ll find more upgrades and surprises the more you play. The main battle on the Sea of Monsters between Scylla and Charybdis has multiple difficulty levels that add new mechanics to challenge your increased skills and strength.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere with two episodes on Wednesday, December 10, on Disney+ and Hulu. In the season, Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) team up with bully Clarisse La Rue (Dior Goodjohn) to journey into the Bermuda Triangle to search for the Golden Fleece and Percy’s missing best friend Grover (Aryan Simhadri).

The show has already been renewed for a third season.

Disney in Fortnite

Special Fortnite islands are part of the ongoing collaboration between Disney and Epic Games. The first was Disneyland Game Rush, an island created to celebrate the park’s 70th anniversary featuring seven quick-play mini-games inspired by beloved attractions from both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

As players complete the challenges, which include Haunted Mansion, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Guardians of the Galaxy –Mission BREAKOUT!-inspired games, they earn exclusive cosmetic items.
