Disney’s Old Key West Resort will soon begin a significant refurbishment, focusing on several key aspects of the rooms. The information was revealed at the Old Key West Condo Association meeting.
Old Key West Refurbishment
The resort is due for a soft goods update, which includes replacing upholstery, bedding, curtains, and carpet. This kind of update would refresh the look of the rooms without altering the structure or any of the major fixtures.
However, Disney is treating this as more of a semi-hard goods update. Kitchens, living rooms, and bedrooms will be replaced in addition to the soft goods. Disney has not confirmed if Murphy beds will come to the resort, as they have at many others.
At this time, we have no further details about when this refurbishment will start (other than 2026) or how long it will last.
Also brought up was the possibility of adding a Skyliner connection at Old Key West, which attendees were given a clear no at this time. Old Key West is relatively close to Caribbean Beach, which serves as the main hub of the Skyliner.

Recently, water taxi service returned to the resort back in July after a lengthy refurbishment. The dock received new decking and safety decals. Last year, Disney started buying back Old Key West contracts using the Right of First Refusal.
