Lucasfilm Games collaborated with Fuse Games on Star Wars: Galactic Racer. It’s a “runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy,” reads the game’s description.

“With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.”

The game stars new character Shade, “a lone racer with a dream of glory and revenge,” said Fuse Games co-founder Matt Webster.

Locations include Jakku, Ando Prime, and Sentinel One. The latter was revealed in the trailer for the first time and is a toxic wasteland with yellow rivers of acid and a Skakoan listening station. The toxic fumes will interfere with engines.

There are various landspeeders and bikes, including skim speeders, which “reward flowing lines and maintaining momentum, banking through corners and knife-edging through narrow gaps.”

The end of the trailer teased the return of Sebulba, who raced against Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
