Delayed New Scenes Finally Coming to Rivers of America at Disneyland Paris, Maybe Just Not All of Them

Despite the many expansions at the soon to be Disney Adventure World, several other projects are underway at Disneyland Paris. One such project is the previously announced addition of Marc Davis-inspired scenes along the Rivers of the Far West.

Rivers of the Far West

By the end of summer 2026, guests will enjoy an enhanced experience at Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing, thanks to new scenes added along the route of Rivers of the Far West, and inspired by the original drawings of Imagineer and Disney Legend Marc Davis.

The new figures, including a buffalo on a prairie, and raccoons and a skunk on a floating log, have been specially redesigned and produced for the project by Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams. Guests will catch a glimpse of these new additions while enjoying a relaxing cruise aboard the iconic Molly Brown boat, which has recently been renovated from stem to stern.

Originally, four new natural scenes with animal figures inspired by Marc Davis’ original concept art were set to be added:

  • Buffalo on the prairie
  • Deer near the waterfalls
  • Genuine 19th Century props
  • Renovated Molly Brown Riverboat

Based on the information provided by Disneyland Paris News, only two new figures will be added.

Marc Davis was one of Disney’s “Nine Old Men,” a group of animators who worked at Walt Disney Productions in its early years. Davis joined Disney in 1935, starting as an animator on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He later moved to WED and worked on such attractions as Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, “it’s a small world,” The Haunted Mansion, and Country Bear Jamboree.

Disney Adventure World

Recently, Disneyland Paris also announced the much anticipated opening date for the World of Frozen land, as well as when Walt Disney Studios Park will officially be rebranded as Disney Adventure World. World of Frozen and the rest of the Adventure Bay expansion will open on March 29, 2026. Walt Disney Studios Park will be renamed Disney Adventure World that day.

World of Frozen will include Frozen Ever After, a version of the attraction originally from EPCOT, plus shopping and dining opportunities. Also along Adventure Way will be Raiponce Tangled SpinRegal View Restaurant & Lounge, and themed gardens. Adventure Bay will be home to a new nighttime show, Disney Cascade of Lights.
