There are more concrete footers in place for the rumored roller coaster replacement of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. The first concrete footers were installed last month.
Construction of New Universal Roller Coaster
More footers are throughout the construction site, between piles of dirt. They are short, round concrete columns with wood boxes on top. There’s also rebar sticking out of the ground in various spots.
Wire frames mark future footer locations. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was completely demolished by late October. Universal hasn’t confirmed details of its replacement, but the footers seem to confirm it will be a roller coaster.
From next to Hard Rock Cafe at CityWalk, we saw concrete forms, which will eventually be removed to reveal new footers. Some of the nearby footers don’t have wood on top of them either.
The puddles in the area are from recent rain.
Rip Ride Rockit construction walls inside the park received new themed posters referencing Blues Brothers and Back to the Future. There are also Ghostbusters and Fast & Furious references.
