The Walt Disney Company announced the nomination of former Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams to its board of directors. This will increase the total number of board members from 10 to 11.
Jeff Williams Nominated to Disney Board
According to the press release, Jeff Williams will stand for election as a new independent director at Disney’s 2026 annual shareholder meeting, along with the re-election of the current 10 directors. Williams’ election will increase the size of the board to 11 members.
Jeff Williams first joined Apple in 1998, first as its Head of Worldwide Procurement, then as VP of Operations in 2004, and finally its Chief Operating Officer in December of 2015. He joined the tech company in 1998 as Head of Worldwide Procurement. In 2004 he was promoted to Vice President of Operations for Apple. Williams was central to the 2017 launch of the first iPhone, overseeing worldwide product operations, and in 2013 lead the Apple Watch project. He officially retired from Apple in July 2025.
