Encanto Ride Rapidly Going Vertical at Walt Disney World

It’s been less than two weeks since the Encanto ride officially went vertical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and last week more steel framework was spotted over the fence. That steel structure has quickly grown over just a few days.

Encanto Ride Construction Progresses

The Encanto ride will be part of the new Tropical Americas land replacing DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Walking under the DinoLand U.S.A. arch, you can clearly see two stories of multiple walls of vertical and horizontal steel beams rising above the green Tropical Americas construction walls. Three days ago, there was only one story visible.

The structure is being constructed on the former site of Dino-Rama, near Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. Those buildings will be re-themed for the new land.

Behind the large dirt pile, there is now a completely new steel framework. Only a few days ago, this spot was occupied by a bulldozer and a temporary crew structure. This can be seen on the path leading to DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus.

DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus will close permanently in February 2026 as the last phase of the DinoLand closure. DINOSAUR will become a new Indiana Jones ride.

Pueblo Esperanza at Animal Kingdom

Pueblo Esperanza, the “Village of Hope” at the heart of Tropical Americas, was first announced at D23 in August 2024 and given an opening year of 2027. Since then, we’ve now learned that the new land will contain the first attraction inspired by Encanto and a new Indiana Jones ride.

Guests will enter the attraction through a façade inspired by the Casita. Arriving on the day Antonio receives his magical gift — talking to animals — guests will journey through the events of the film and beyond on a boat ride in vehicles made to resemble the Casita’s magical living furniture.

Disney recently shared a behind the scenes video of Tropical Americas construction, including the new Encanto ride. You can also check out the Pueblo Esperanza and Casita models.
