Disney Cruise Line Launches Sail Away Gifts to Send Onboard Credits to Guests

Disney Cruise Line is introducing Sail Away Gifts, a way to let friends and family who aren’t joining you on a sailing to send you gifts onboard.

Sail Away Gift is like a registry allowing people to send you onboard credits to use during your sailing. Guests with an upcoming sailing can generate their unique Sail Away Gift link under My Reservations and Onboard Gifts on the Disney Cruise Line website. You can then send the link to friends and family.

They choose the amount they want to send, put in the legal first and last name of the guest, and make the purchase. They can send multiple guests credits in one transaction and add a personal message.

Once onboard, guests will see the credit in their folio (stateroom account) and receive a card with the personal message. Guests can view their folio in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or at Guest Services.

Disney is not currently able to notify guests in advance if they have received an onboard credit. If credits are purchased less than 48 hours before a sailing, a card may not be issued, but the credit will still appear.

Onboard credits apply automatically to eligible charges. They can be used on things like Port Adventures, spa treatments, merchandise, premium dining, specialty drinks and beverage tastings, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, vacation photos, and internet packages.

If you don’t use all your onboard credit before the end of your sailing, you can call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center to discuss a refund. Refunds are processed on a case-by-case basis and returned to the original purchaser in the form of payment they used.

Guests can also still purchase onboard credits and gifts for themselves or other members of their sailing party.
