Crews Working on Walls Throughout Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Lobby

As the reimagining of the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort lobby nears completion, crew members are working on some final refurbishment projects.

Grand Floridian Lobby Construction

Near the elevator bay on the second floor, there are some white curtains in front of a wall where crew members are working.

Though these kinds of curtains usually block paint work, sections of the wall had actually been removed and a crew member was looking inside. This may mean some kind of electrical work or other refurbishment was required.

The Garden View Tea Room is near complete but not scheduled to open until next year. We didn’t see anything significantly different about the tea room’s entrance area since our last construction update. Note the new carpeting just barely visible under walls blocking the entryways.

The tea room previously carpeting with a mainly red pattern. This one is mainly green, similar to other new carpeting in the lobby.

These curtains have blocked a section of wall between the tea room and Curiouser Clothiers for a few weeks.

Above another stretch of curtains is a white patch over what appears to be a hole in the wall. This looks like it was purposefully cut like the area on the second floor.

The lobby is currently decorated for Christmas but does not have a gingerbread house this year.

The Perch bar opened last month. Check out our review of its signature drinks.
