We now have the closing date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The coaster will then be transformed into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Closing Date

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close on March 2, 2026. The last day to experience the ride is March 1, 2026.
Previously, Disney only shared a general timeline for the closure, which was set for “early Spring.” Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in the summer of 2026.
As we reported earlier, the preshow of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is now boarded up in preparation for the upcoming transition to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Once the doors to the preshow open, guests now walk straight through to the loading area of the ride without waiting.

The concept art of the Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s exterior includes a psychedelic makeover for the giant guitar in Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard. The piano motif at the base of the guitar will include one gold key as a nod to Dr. Teeth’s gold tooth. The concept art also includes the poster on the wall of the building.
Guests are on a VIP tour of G-Force Records. Though the Electric Mayhem have a concert across town, they’re delayed in the recording studio, which guests will see as part of the new pre-show.
In the booth is a team of penguin audio engineers. The penguins and Scooter are animatronics. Miss Piggy and Kermit appear on screens.
Backstory

According to the backstory, Scooter’s uncle — real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse — purchased G-Force Records and put Scooter in charge.
After the pre-show, guests board the attraction. “With the help from our friends at Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine,” Disney describes, “we’ll take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time.”
The scenery and landmarks will feature a Muppet twist. Guests will also hear the Electric Mayhem playing iconic hits. Disney teased a setlist coming soon.
