Disney dining, like the rest of Walt Disney World, is an experience. Chowing down on Casey’s corn dogs is a favorite tradition of ours, but nothing quite compares to character meals at Disney World. Whether you’re having breakfast with Winnie the Pooh or dining with royalty at Akershus, the possibilities are (practically) endless. Here are all of the character meal options Disney World has to offer and what you need to know about these enchanted eateries.

What Are Character Meals?

Character meals at Disney World are dining experiences during which different characters roam the dining room. You can take photos with them and even see some special costuming specific to that location. At Tusker House, for instance, you’ll see Mickey and his pals decked out in their best safari gear. These experiences are part of what makes Disney World so special.
Additionally, beer and wine are available at all character meal restaurants, though the cocktail availability varies. Also, keep in mind that some of these restaurants offer character meals only at specific times. We’ll note which locations have timing-specific character visits in this guide so you aren’t caught off guard.
All Character Meal Locations
1900 Park Fare

- Location: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
- Meal Times: Breakfast and Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$$ (over $60 per adult)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters:
- Aladdin
- Cinderella
- Mirabel
- Tiana
Set amongst the Victorian charms of the Grand Floridian, 1900 Park Fare is known for its Wish Makers Enchanted Dining. That’s because each character you can meet there is someone whose dreams came true through a wish. During both breakfast and dinner, you can meet some of these folks, like Tiana and Aladdin, while noshing on tasty eats along the restaurant’s buffet.
Some of the specialties offered here include bread pudding at breakfast, the Grand Floridian strawberry soup at either meal, or Tiana’s Gumbo at dinner. Alcohol is also available with specialty cocktails such as the Maple-Vanilla Espresso Martini and the Strawberry Rosé Spritz.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

- Location: The Norway Pavilion in EPCOT
- Meal Times: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
- Cuisine: American and Norwegian
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast, $$$$ (over $60 per adult for lunch/dinner)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters: (Up to 5 princesses from this list)
- Ariel
- Aurora
- Belle
- Cinderella
- Jasmine
- Mulan
- Tiana
- Snow White
Although it doesn’t have the grandeur of Cinderella’s Castle, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is where the regal dine at EPCOT—aside from Regal Eagle, I suppose. Akershus is fashioned after a Medieval Norwegian castle, so you’ll still feel like royalty from the heart of the Norway Pavilion. As a heads up, though, don’t expect to see Anna or Elsa at this character dining location. They’re nearby at Royal Sommerhus instead. Even so, following the royal theme, you can meet several princesses at this location.
(Unlike many of the other character meals, Akershus doesn’t offer a buffet. Instead, these meals are served family style. Platters of food are brought out, and you can order more as needed without leaving the table. Besides the Norwegian waffles, the breakfast is pretty standard American fare, like pastries and eggs. For lunch or dinner, you can enjoy Norwegian dishes such as kjøttkaker (meatballs) and stekt laks (seared salmon). Alcohol, like the specialty Blue Viking cocktail, is also available.
Cape May Cafe

- Location: Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Meal Times: Breakfast (Dinner does not have characters)
- Cuisine: American and Seafood
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters:
- Daisy
- Donald
- Goofy
- Minnie
Another hotel restaurant, Cape May Cafe brings New England to Florida. During the breakfast buffet, a handful of classic Disney characters take over this adorable spot in their best resort wear. Ready to have their own fun in the sun, characters like Minnie and Daisy will trot around the dining room as you enjoy some coastal cuisine. Keep in mind, this location only has characters during breakfast. You’re welcome to eat dinner here, too, though, even without character interactions.
Should you visit for the buffet breakfast, grab some salted caramel beach buns and cheddar biscuits and gravy to start. For the grown-ups, there are also delicious, specialty alcoholic libations, such as the Legacy Mimosa and the Salted Caramel Cold Brew.
Chef Mickey’s

- Location: Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Meal Times: Breakfast and Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast) $$$$ (over $60 per adult for dinner)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters:
- Donald
- Goofy
- Mickey
- Minnie
- Pluto
Chef Mickey’s is arguably the most iconic character meal experience at Disney World. If nothing else, it’s the oldest character meal still in operation. Originally opened in July 1990 at Disney Village Marketplace (now Disney Springs), Chef Mickey’s moved to Disney’s Contemporary Resort in December 1995. In its vivid color pattern, this restaurant is a nostalgia factory.
While you enjoy dinner, the Monorail will undoubtedly pop in and back out of The Contemporary. Watch it or do some people-watching as you enjoy a steak and egg scramble or croissant beignets for breakfast, or some tomato and rosemary focaccia and shrimp scampi for dinner. Adults can also enjoy Chef Mickey’s signature cocktails, such as the Sunset Margarita or the Island Fusion Punch.
Cinderella’s Royal Table

- Location: Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park
- Meal Times: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$$ (over $60 per adult)
- Disney Dining Credit: 2 Table Service Dining Credits
- Characters: (Cinderella plus a few other princesses, which can include)
- Ariel
- Aurora
- Jasmine
- Snow White
- (Sometimes princesses as well)
If Chef Mickey’s is iconic, Cinderella’s Royal Table (CRT) is the most luxurious character meal. Nestled inside the Cinderella Castle, with its soaring ceilings and grand chandeliers, CRT is the opulent shining star of Disney World character dining. In addition to Cinderella, guests can meet several other princesses as they dine in the castle’s hallowed halls. Originally known as King Stefan’s Banquet Hall when Disney World opened in 1971, CRT has become a pinnacle of royal adventures in the Magic Kingdom.
For breakfast, in addition to the pastry plate, you can enjoy entrees like banana-stuffed French toast and shrimp and grits. At both lunch and dinner, you receive a prix-fixe meal with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Choose from options such as the chicken roulade or roasted lamb chops. Beer and wine offerings are available at lunch, but specialty cocktails (such as the Roses & Rhubarb) are also available at dinner.
The Crystal Palace

- Location: At the end of Main Street in Magic Kingdom Park
- Meal Times: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast), $$$$ (over $60 per adult for lunch/dinner)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters:
- Eeyore
- Piglet
- Tigger
- Winnie-the-Pooh
- Rabbit (rare)
Where else but a Victorian greenhouse would one expect to find Winnie-the-Pooh and Tigger, too? That’s precisely the case for The Crystal Palace. This adorable locale in the heart of Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom is always a fantastic way to start the day. Churro Mickey waffles and hugs from Pooh himself? What could be better? Well, besides seeing the characters do their precious friendship parade around the restaurant. That’s the best.
Regardless of the meal period, Crystal Palace serves its buffet all day long. That includes my favorite, the churro Mickey waffle for breakfast, as well as shrimp creole and country-fried chicken with black pepper gravy for lunch and dinner. Cocktails like the Legacy Mimosa or Island Fusion Punch are served all day as well.
Garden Grill Restaurant

- Location: The Land Pavilion at EPCOT
- Meal Times: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast), $$$$ (over $60 per adult for lunch/dinner)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters:
- Chip
- Dale
- Farmer Mickey Mouse
- Pluto
Fellow fans of Living with the Land, listen up! This rotating Land Pavilion restaurant gives you a low-flying bird’s eye view of part of your favorite ride as you celebrate the harvest with Chip and Dale. At the Garden Grill Restaurant, the focus on cultivating fresh produce carries on from Living with the Land right to your plate. That’s right, some of your meal was grown right in the greenhouses along the attraction.
This family-style restaurant provides harvest feasts at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From backyard grilled steak with farmer’s ranchero sauce in the morning to cornbread and rotisserie-roasted turkey for lunch or dinner, you’ll be eating well. You can even top off with a boozy Cole Brew Martini before heading back into the big blue world of EPCOT.
Hollywood & Vine

- Location: Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Meal Times: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast), $$$$ (over $60 per adult for lunch/dinner)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters: (In special seasonal or holiday attire)
- Goofy
- Mickey
- Minnie
- Pluto
Other restaurants around the Disney World resort give the classic characters a makeover and stick to it. But Minnie, fashion icon that she is, is constantly changing things up at Hollywood & Vine. Throughout the year, the character looks at this restaurant are changed to provide a new experience for guests. After all, we can’t expect an eatery for the stars to have the same ensembles day in and day out!
At breakfast, enjoy dishes like the bananas foster French toast or potato casserole, or even more elevated fare at lunch and dinner. Indulge in some sweet chili aïoli salmon and sour cream and chive whipped potatoes for dinner. Make sure you eat up so you can party on with Mickey at Fantasmic! Can’t defeat a dragon on an empty stomach.
Please note: as of October 11, 2025, Disney Junior Play n’ Dine during breakfast is being discontinued. Instead, the restaurant will offer Minnie’s Seasonal Dining all day.
‘Ohana

- Location: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Meal Times: Breakfast (Dinner does not feature characters)
- Cuisine: American and Polynesian
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters:
- Lilo
- Mickey
- Pluto
- Stitch
Surrounded by tikis, this unique dining experience at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is on many must-do lists. At ‘Ohana, you get to feast (fittingly) family-style as Lilo and Stitch meander the dining room with Mickey and his best pal Pluto. This experience takes place only during breakfast but has become a huge fan favorite among frequent Disney-goers.
Besides Stitch, the star of the show at ‘Ohana is the beloved pineapple-coconut breakfast bread. It is one of the restaurant’s signatures and a surefire way to kick off an excellent Disney day. Adults can also enjoy signature cocktails, such as the pineapple-forward Lapu Lapu or the Wasabi Bloody Mary.
Ravello

- Location: Four Seasons Resort Orlando
- Meal Times: Breakfast (Thursday and Saturday only, dinner is not a character meal)
- Cuisine: Italian
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult)
- Disney Dining Credit: Dining plan is not accepted
- Characters:
- Goofy
- Mickey
- Minnie
Ravello is unique among the character meals mainly because it isn’t at a Disney park or Disney-owned resort. You’ll find this restaurant at the Four Seasons Orlando. Further, Ravello offers Disney World character dining only during breakfast on Thursdays and Saturdays, not daily like the other properties. Even so, if you’re looking for a more elevated experience without losing the Disney charm, this is a good option.
Breakfast at Ravello is an indulgent affair. With delicacies like the dolce latte French toast, waffle al formaggio, and schiacciata, you’re in for a hearty meal. Certain specialties are also only available during the character breakfasts, such as the egg white frittata, the kickin’ goat omelet, and the three pigs omelet.
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White

- Location: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Meal Times: Dinner
- Cuisine: American
- Cost: $$$$ (over $60 per adult)
- Disney Dining Credit: 2 Table Service Dining Credits
- Characters:
- Dopey
- Grumpy
- Snow White
Under the glowing lights of the Enchanted Forest, guests at Story Book Dining can unwind after a long park adventure. Truly, at this prix fixe character meal, the only one leaving grumpy will be Grumpy himself. Although several restaurants only serve character meals at breakfast, it makes sense that Story Book Dining takes place at dinner in the cozy, dreamy warmth of the lodge.
This three-course meal begins with shared appetizers such as the wicked shrimp cocktail or the hunter’s harvest. Following that are the entrees, many of which also have charming names, like the Brothers Grimm herbed chicken or Magic Mirror’s slow-braised pork shank. Finally, the shared desserts include miner’s treasures and the “poison” apple.
Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera

- Location: Disney’s Riviera Resort
- Meal Times: Breakfast (dinner service is not a character meal)
- Cuisine: French and Italian
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters: (In their artist wear)
- Daisy
- Donald
- Mickey
- Minnie
You’ve heard of á la carte breakfast, but have you heard of Breakfast á la Art? That’s what’s on the menu at Topolino’s Terrace in the morning! Starring Mickey the artiste and his friends, this artfully curated character meal is perfect for the sophisticated feel of Topolino’s at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Start the morning with some sour cream waffles or avocado and smoked salmon toast, while looking out over the large terrace windows. While you’re there, perhaps you can also enjoy a Riviera Bloody Mary or a Classic Bellini. Just don’t forget to grab pictures with Mickey and his pals in their adorable artistic ensembles.
Tusker House Restaurant

- Location: In Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
- Meal Times: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
- Cuisine: American and African
- Cost: $$$ ($35.99 to $59.99 per adult for breakfast), $$$$ (over $60 per adult for lunch/dinner)
- Disney Dining Credit: 1 Table Service Dining Credit
- Characters: (In their safari gear)
- Daisy
- Donald
- Goofy
- Mickey
An ideal theming for Animal Kingdom, this safari-inspired eatery is one of my favorite spots. Tusker House Restaurant is hosted by Donald and some of his pals in their gear, ready to hop over to Kilimanjaro Safaris at any moment. Character meals are available here during all mealtimes with a full buffet of American and African favorites to sink your teeth into. As a Lion King fan, I get excited about the Simba waffles.
Aside from your typical Disney waffles, breakfast also includes other tasty favorites like French toast bulkas, shakshuka, and bobotie. Lunch and dinner share the same buffet offerings such as berbere-marinated pork, North African pilau, and watermelon-feta salad. But don’t skip the cocktail menu here either, as it has specialties like Ngumu Jungle Juice and Lost on Safari, which are great for a day in Animal Kingdom. They’ll certainly hype up the Warthog Section at Festival of The Lion King.
What About Be Our Guest Restaurant?

Although The Beast is present at Be Our Guest Restaurant, it isn’t considered traditional character dining anymore. That’s because The Beast walks through the dining areas, but no longer meets with guests. Personally, I think Be Our Guest is still worth it for the dining room designs. Still, if you’re looking for meet-and-greet options, this one won’t work.
