Aerial Photos Show Roller Coaster Construction at Universal Studios Florida

Thanks to a series of new aerial photos from @bioreconstruct on X, we have a better look at construction progress surrounding the attraction that replaces Rip Ride Rockit in Universal Studios Florida.

Construction of New Universal Roller Coaster

Aerial shots taken above Universal CityWalk show roller coaster footers among piles of dirt. They are short, round concrete columns with wood boxes on top. There’s also rebar sticking out of the ground in various spots.

In another photo taken above CityWalk, the large scale of the coaster is beginning to take shape while wire frames mark future footer locations. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was completely demolished by late October, but Universal hasn’t confirmed details of its replacement.

Moving to an in-park view, a look near where the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit tower used to be offers a glance at track footers that seem to be preserved for later use.

Much of the track will be in located the canyon behind Music Plaza, with a station and service buildings in progress at top of this photo.

Lots of construction equipment and building supplies fill up the area to become a service building for the upcoming coaster. It is likely being used as a staging area as construction continues in the early stages.

Just behind fire station facade, where a section of Rip Ride Rockit ran through there are additional footers and concrete blocking. The track will likely travel through the facade, once complete.

Rip Ride Rockit construction walls inside the park recently received new themed posters referencing Blues Brothers and Back to the Future. There are also Ghostbusters and Fast & Furious references.
