With the exception of The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, Animation Courtyard has been closed since September to make way for new attractions.

Photos from @bioreconstruct show what is going on behind the scenes. We have been sharing frequent updates to the space, but the aerial overview provides a different insight.

Construction work taking place between the show buildings indicate that land is being cleared where the entrance previously was. You can see the entrance to the Disney Junior Play and Dance attraction on the left side of the photo above.

Piles of dirt, construction equipment, and a few excavators are scattered throughout the area.

From the photos above, it does not appear work extends outside of this area. Everything is happening behind the temporary walls that block the area off to guests visiting the park.

The area is being reimagined as a new space themed to the Walt Disney Studios, which will include The Magic of Disney Animation.
