In a behind-the-scenes Instagram video, filmed inside one of the special effects labs at Walt Disney Imagineering, imagineers share some of the tech they are tinkering with. Including a tease at the end of the video of an unknown special project involving modern holographic materials and fiber optics.
In the video, you follow an Imagineer into the shop, to view some of the cool stuff they are working on. Imagineers show a prototype of a storm cloud, molds used to produce crystal shapes with a holographic effect to them.
They take you outside to have a look at a pool with a custom fountain water feature and even a look inside of their refrigerator. They also show how they use silks and lighting to recreate flame, like those used on Pirates of the Caribbean.
At the end of the video, they tease a secret project they are working on, “tying in modern holographic material through media and fiber optics. This is going to be for….”
