Universal has cleared a portion of trees from a backstage area of The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure. Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct on X (formerly Twitter) shared these photos of the land on November 26.

The Lost Continent Construction

Bio’s photo above shows construction walls outside Poseidon’s Fury, including some walls that are staged on the ground. These may be the walls recently removed from the nearby bridge. There are no clear signs of construction at Poseidon’s Fury yet. The walkthrough attraction closed permanently in May 2023.

The bridge, which connects The Lost Continent to Seuss Landing, was paved. This replaces faux wood planks. Bio’s photo shows scaffolding and scrim on one side. Themed railings appear to have been removed to be refurbished or replaced, which already happened on the other side of the bridge.

Trees have been cleared between the Poseidon’s Fury show building and abandoned theater for The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad. There are some trees still remaining along the side of the Sindbad theater but there’s a swath of dirt where more trees used to be.

This photo takes a closer look at the area. There are some firetrucks parked nearby.

Universal confirmed construction at The Lost Continent in September, stating it was “to ensure the area is ready for any future developments,” although they have not indicated what those future developments might be.
