The Magic Kingdom ferryboats have trash cans again, now bolted in place so they don’t fall over.
Magic Kingdom Ferryboat Trash Cans

Trash cans and recycling bins were removed from ferryboats after the General Joe Potter boat crashed into the TTC’s dock during a storm on July 30, 2025. The accident reportedly caused injuries and several guests spoke out about the bad experience.
Though never officially confirmed, some said a trash can hit a guest. A man had also previously sued Disney regarding a 2023 ferryboat accident in which he was thrown into a trash can.

We spotted this pair of bins on the Richard F. Irvine. According to the captain, they were installed a few days ago. Instead of standing free, the trash can and recycling bin are bolted together with two metal sheets on either side of a pillar, so they can’t move around.

Similarly bolted bins have reportedly been added to the General Joe Potter and Admiral Joe Fowler ferryboats. They are only on the first level of the boat, not the second level.
