The official Star Wars Instagram page shared the first looks of Chewbacca in his Life Day robe for upcoming Galaxy’s Edge meet and greets at Walt Disney World and, in breaking news, Disneyland.
Life Day Chewbacca
The Star Wars Instagram shared the video:
The caption reads:
Chewbacca is ready for Life Day. Celebrate the Wookiee tradition for a limited time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge® at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World.
They also posted a photo of Chewie in front of the Millennium Falcon.

Life Day Chewbacca Meet and Greets
At Walt Disney World, Life Day Chewbacca will be meeting guests exclusively at Disney Jollywood Nights, a separately-ticketed event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The first night is Saturday, November 8 — check out our full guide to Jollywood Nights.
Disneyland has been celebrating Life Day in its respective Galaxy’s Edge for years with special food and novelties, but this is the first news we’re hearing of Chewbacca doing a meet and greet in his Life Day robe. We’ll report on more information as it becomes available.
Life Day in Star Wars

Life Day is a Wookiee holiday in the Star Wars universe first mentioned in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), which centers on Chewbacca trying to get home to his family for the holiday. Despite George Lucas’ attempts to bury the special, it has attained cult status — largely for it being the first appearance of Boba Fett — and was cemented in the Star Wars canon when it was name-dropped in the first episode of The Mandalorian.
Life Day is celebrated on November 17, the original air date of the Star Wars Holiday Special.
