The Haunted Mansion Parlor may not be a new venue for Disney Cruise Line, but it does have new drinks on the Destiny. We tried them, and we almost became the 1,000th Happy Haunt!

Haunted Mansion Parlor
Step into the Haunted Mansion Parlor—a first-of-its-kind, adults-only haunted hangout for lively “spirits,” with a specially crafted cocktail menu that is to die for.
Our tour actually begins with a look at the venue, which is a carbon-copy of the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure. The drink menu, however, is new for the most part. You can read our review of the menu currently on the Treasure.
The Chilling Challenge: My Way – $22
Cognac, Cointreau Noir, Joto Yuzu Sake, Orange Blossom Foam, Edible Viola Flowers

This drink has the same name and presentation as the menu offering on the Treasure, but it’s new drink. Our first impression is that there are a lot of bubbles, and they overpower the rest of the drink. It tastes like drinking soap. Once you get through it, it does not get better, unfortunately. It is watery with a bitter cleaning solution taste. The presentation is really neat with the Death Certificate, but it cannot save how bad the drink tastes.

The Poseidon: Tidal Terror – $65
Metaxa 5 Stars, 1883 Mango Syrup, Lime Juice, Angostura Bitters, Fever Tree Pineapple Ginger Soda, Leejay. Comes in a Tiki mug.

This is an average Disney tiki-cocktail, with a lot of syrup and juice. The pineapple ginger beer tastes weird to us. It’s not bad, but it’s very run of the mill.

The Siren: Ethereal Encore – $55
Sake, Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin, 1883 Falernum Syrup, Lime, Pineapple & Grapefruit Juices. Comes in a Tiki mug.

This drink consists of mostly pineapple juice; we wonder where the liquor is in this drink. By this point, we are very disappointed in the drink menu. Disney had the opportunity to do some cool New Orleans-style drinks like Hurricanes or Hudson River cocktails (depending on the coast represented), and they failed to get creative with these.

Tail of the Rat – $15
Stoli Elite, Ube Syrup, Fever Tree Sparkling Lemonade, Ube Dusted Lotus & Edible Violas

Very Ube-y. It’s the most interesting, flavor-wise, but there is a lot going on still. It tastes very artificial to us.

Awaken the Spirits – $16
Illegal Reposado Mezcal, Fresh Lime Juice, Hibiscus Cinnamon Agave Syrup, Bitters, Dried Hibiscus

This drink has to sit with you for a minute to appreciate it. It starts off with a bad first reaction because it kind of tastes like a Christmas tree. However, a few minutes go by and it grows on you. The dried hibiscus flavor is the prominent flavor in the drink. It is smoky and spicy, but not hot spice. It is very reminiscent of mulled wine.

13th Hour – $18
La Pulga Reposado, Bacoo Wish Series Tequila, Agave Syrup, Mango & Fresh Lemon Juices, Bitters, Aperol Foam

Here we have another juice-heavy drink. The foam works for this drink, adding a slight sweetness. It tastes like orange juice at the front and by the end has a charred liquor taste. The 13th Hour is a very average, middle-of-the-road beverage.

The Ghost Ship (Zero Proof) – $15
Lyre’s Dark Cane, 1883 Lychee Syrup, Real Coco, Coconut Water, Red Coconut Shavings

The Ghost Ship beverage has a bitter finish, and the coconut shavings do not go down easy. It’s also not as sweet as we expected. There is a very specific market for this beverage, in our opinion, and there are people out there who would like this. Another great way to describe it is it tastes like rose water and maple syrup.

Restless Bones – $8.50
1883 Popcorn Syrup, Monin Salted Caramel, Boundless Butterscotch Potion

Before even tasting it, it sounds very interesting. It tastes like caramel popcorn soda, and we really like it. It may even be our favorite drink on the entire menu. The butter scotch is not prevalent at all. A shot of alcohol would make this drink unbelievable. It’s one of our favorites on the entire cruise.

The Midnight Spree – $8.50
1883 Dragon Fruit Syrup, Butterfly Pea Syrup, Sour Shivers Lemonade

This is a kids-centered drink for sure. It tastes like Cotton Candy Fruit Punch.

The Swinging Wake – $25
Monin Cherry & Banana Syrups, Orange Juice, Berry Beware Potion, Comes with Organ Player Sipper

It is the worst of the three non-alcoholic options, but it’s still drinkable. This reminds us of sour grapes, but has a fruity flavor still.

Final Thoughts
The Haunted Mansion Parlor has the weakest beverage menu of he lounges on the Destiny. Cask & Cannon has the strongest drink menu of all the lounges.
