A diagram shared by Disney of the infrastructure behind (and below) its new Cascade of Lights show in Disney Adventure World hints at a possible new Avatar land for the evolving park.
Possible New Land Named in Cascade of Lights Diagram
Disney Cascade of Lights is the nighttime spectacular that will take place in Adventure Bay in Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), utilizing water effects and drones. Disney shared a diagram of the underwater infrastructure that powers the show.
Cascade of Lights will use water barges in a 360-degree configuration. Looking closely, each barge is named LOKI with another name that corresponds to an area or attraction in Disney Adventure World: RACER (Cars ROAD TRIP), LION (the upcoming Lion King flume ride), FROZEN (the upcoming World of Frozen), and, curiously, NAVI.
The inclusion of this as a name alongside other existing and announced attractions has fueled speculation that a land themed to Avatar may be planned for Disney Adventure World.
Disneyland Paris Avatar Speculation
An Avatar-themed land for Disneyland Paris has been rumored for years, following the cancellation of the previously announced Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. While Lion King was the property ultimately chosen for the forthcoming Disney Adventure World, Disney has only increased its stake in the Avatar franchise. The 2022 sequel Avatar: The Way of Water became the third-highest-grossing film of all time with a worldwide box office take of $2.32 billion, and in February 2023 Disney announced that Disneyland Resort would receive its own “version of” Pandora – The World of Avatar, based on The Way of Water and later films.
The third film in the franchise, Avatar: Fire and Ash, will release in theaters on December 19, 2026. Director James Cameron reportedly has plans for three to four more films in the franchise.
