Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad Will Return for $60 Million Each in Frozen 3 & 4

Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel have signed massive deals for Frozen 3 and 4, making it one of the biggest deals in animation history. Jennifer Lee will also return to direct.

The Frozen franchise is one of the most valuable and highest earning Disney currently has as Frozen 2 grossed $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office in 2019. The original Frozen earned $1.3 billion when it hit theaters over a decade ago.

According to TheWrap, The $60 million fee for the two new sequels — which includes upfront fees and back end bonus payments in each case — is a steep increase from their earnings on the sequel, which netted each actor $15 million.

Bell, Gad and Menzel are all paid the same amount for each Frozen film, for which they provide speaking and singing voices. The two movies are being going to be made simultaneously.

The $60 million will be handed out over several years in coordination with production and release of the films. This is a departure from typical payouts, which pay a lump sum and then have bonuses later on depending on the film’s success.

Jennifer Lee co-wrote and co-direct the first two films, and she will return alongside Trent Correy. Peter Del Vecho will return to produce the film, and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are also coming back for the third and fourth films.

Last year, Disney released the first concept art.

In a September interview, actor Josh Gad, perhaps most famous as the voice of Olaf, recently provided an update on the production status of Frozen III.

Frozen 3 will release over Thanksgiving weekend 2027, and Frozen 4 does not have a release timeline yet.
