Though the resort’s new lobby bar is open, work is still ongoing at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. A portion of the second floor of the lobby is currently closed for painting and construction continues at the Garden View Tea Room.
Grand Floridian Resort Lobby Construction
The center of the lobby was completed in October and The Perch opened earlier this month. Check out our review of the bar’s signature drinks. At the back of the lobby, the Garden View Tea Room remains closed and blocked by construction walls.
The tea room has not operated since 2020. Its new stained glass windows were installed a few weeks ago. These feature birds and branches, matching the rest of the lobby’s theming.
For now, the windows are covered by scrim. The tea room is set to reopen next year with a “new tea experience.”
The gold painted “GF” logo and filigree has been completed at both ends of the lobby. These replace 3D shell-like elements.
On the second floor, a section of hallway near the Enchanted Rose Lounge is closed. White curtains keep guests away.
From across the lobby, we could see a crew member behind the curtains painting the previously dark blue wall white.
Due to construction, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort does not have its gingerbread house this year.
