On the Disney Destiny cruise ship, there are a variety of stateroom categories to choose from, and we toured the Deluxe Oceanview and Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms. Check out this tour, which includes Hercules, Mulan, and Raya and the Last Dragon.

Deluxe vs Deluxe Family

The Deluxe Oceanview stateroom is 181 sq. ft. with room for 3-4 guests. It has a queen bed and sofa bed, plus an upper berth pull-down bed (if sleeping 4).

The Deluxe Family Oceanview stateroom has more square footage at 237 sq. ft. It sleeps up to five guests between a queen bed, a single convertible sofa, and an upper berth single pull-down over the sofa.

Both options have split bath layouts with a vanity, sink, and combination tub/shower on one side; and a vanity, sink, and toilet on the other. There is also a large porthole window in each stateroom.

Hercules Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom

The layout and amenities are the same regardless of the theme. We first toured a Hercules-themed Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom, 6508.

The entry is a small hallway with closets on one side and bathroom doors on the other.

The closets have lighting that turns on when the door is opened. One side has a rod with hangars. This is also where guests can find the ladder for the pull-down berth bed. The other side of the closet has shelves, a mini safe, a laundry bag, and life preservers in adult and youth sizes.

The bathroom features a split layout. On one side is a vanity, sink, and toilet. Shelves and hooks offer storage solutions, and the button on the wall flushes the toilet.

The second portion of split bathroom is the shower/bathtub combination with a glass door and another vanity with sink. Disney Cruise Line provides toiletries and towels.

After the hall is the main sleeping space with a queen bed. The main themed decoration in each stateroom is the wall behind the bed.

For the Hercules-themed room, the artwork shows characters from the movie at the gates of Mount Olympus. The color scheme is purple, orange, and white.

The sleeping area and living area can be separated by a heavy privacy curtain. The sofa converts to a single bed, and another single bed pulls down from the cabinet beside it. Plus, there is the pull-down berth bed.

Over the sofa is another piece of Hercules theming — comic book-style sketches of movie scenes.

Across from the sofa is a desk with an ottoman and a lighted mirror. The phone is located here, as well as shelves and drawers for additional storage. Guests will find the hair dryer in a drawer here rather than in the bathroom. The largest drawer contains the mini fridge.

Mulan Deluxe Family Oceanview

The Mulan-themed stateroom we toured is also a Deluxe Family Oceanview, 6510. The entry area is the same as the other themes. The bathrooms are equipped with Disney-branded toiletries (including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion) and bath towels with the Disney Cruise Line logo.

There was a towel animal waiting on the queen bed. There are two small wall-mounted nightstands on either side of the bed with lamps and reading lights, as well as a variety of outlets.

The artwork in this stateroom was Mulan and Li Shang, with swords drawn, and other characters in the background. The color scheme was blue, pink, and white.

This stateroom was set up so we could see the bed configurations without the single bed pulled down. Pictured above is the sofa turned into a bed and the berth pulled down. A ladder is provided for accessing the upper berth. The upper berth has rails on the three exposed sides.

Instead of a pull-out bed that would use up floor space, the bed converts within the frame of the sofa.

Special art is on the ceiling above the upper berth and is only visible when the bed is pulled down. The art features a constellation that spells out “I have often dreamed of a far-off place” and an image of Hercules.

The opposite wall has the vanity with the stool, mirror, and other features. The vanity mirror illuminates when the switch is turned on. The shelves have rails to keep items from falling, and the stool fits under the vanity.

Artwork in this room features Mushu.

Raya and the Last Dragon Oceanview Stateroom

The final Oceanview Stateroom we toured was 8018, themed to Raya and the Last Dragon.

The queen bed is in the main space after leaving the hallway. The large privacy curtain blocks off the bed from the rest of the sleep areas, including the sofa and vanity.

The scene depicted on back of the queen bed is Raya holding the gem and Tuk Tuk, with a purple and blue color scheme.

The bed configuration set up shows what the stateroom looks like when it sleeps four guests. There is a queen bed, sofa that converts to a single bed, and the upper berth pull-down. The storage closet next to it contains another single bed.

As pictured above, the large porthole takes up almost the entire wall. Curtains can cover the porthole to create a darker environment in the stateroom.

Raya’s loyal companion, Tuk Tuk, is featured on the artwork in the stateroom.
