Guests can meet the Grinch, his dog Max, and several more characters during Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood. The Grinch and Max have set meet and greet spots. Cindy Lou Who and The Fa-Who 4 A’s musical group meet after their shows. All the other characters roam Universal Plaza. Grinchmas runs through January 4, 2026.
Grinchmas Character Meet and Greets
The Grinch
The Grinch meet and greet is accessible through a red heart archway. A wait time is posted outside. The Grinch is popular so often has an hours-long wait.
He meets in his Santa Claus outfit in front of a Whoville Tree Trimmers vehicle. There are decorations, a Christmas tree, and presents in the photo op space.
Max the Dog
Max the dog sits atop a giant gift box featuring paw print wrapping paper. This is in front of the Grinch’s sleigh.
The dog wears a reindeer “antler” on his head, secured with a red bow under his chin.
Cindy Lou Who
Cindy Lou Who sometimes wanders the area but usually meets in a space next to the stage after her storytime performances. She narrates How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Shows are at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
The Fa-Who 4 A’s
The Fa-Who 4 A’s meet after their performances at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.
Postmaster Lou Lou Who
Cindy Lou Who’s dad, the postmaster, is among the characters wandering Universal Plaza. You might be most likely to spot him near the post office, however. Guests can mail a postcard and for each card sent, Universal Studios Hollywood will make a charitable donation.
Betty Lou Who
Cindy Lou Who’s mom, Betty, wears her red cape and tree-patterned dress. Her hair is in two stand-up braids around a teacup hat.
Mayor Augustus MayWho
The mayor has his fur-lined cape and sash of medals. We spotted him near the stage.
Martha May Whovier
Martha May Whovier is in her Santa-inspired dress and hat.
Froodle the Weatherman
Froodle the Weatherman is an original character for Universal Studios Hollywood. He has tall white cyclone hair and a beard. His suit jacket is adorned with snowflakes. And he carries a cane that doubles as weather equpment.
Baker
A baker with a giant tube of frosting and an outfit featuring gingerbread men also wanders the space.
Hollywood & Dine is offering a special Grinchmas menu for the holiday season.
