Universal announced new details about attractions, shows, food and beverage options, merchandise experiences, and the hotel coming to Universal Kids Resort. The brand-new theme park designed for families with young children will open in Frisco, Texas in 2026.
Universal Kids Resort Details
Last month, Universal confirmed the names of each land and shared initial attraction details. At the resort, guests will visit DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, and the Isle of Curiosity.
When creating Universal Kids Resort, we leaned into that childlike curiosity and invited play to be our guide. Every detail was designed through a child’s eyes from signs at their height to colors that invite them in. The result is a park that celebrates the joy of being a kid — where imagination isn’t just encouraged, it’s embedded in every attraction, space, and experience.

Jurassic World Adventure Camp
Guests will “zoom through twists, turns, peaks and valleys” on Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster as they search for Bumpy, the Ankylosaurus from Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, who has gone missing. Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin, inspired by the animated character from the first Jurassic Park film, “will take families on a twisting and turning journey.”
Not pictured in this concept art is the Pteranodrop, which “gives brave adventurers a bird’s eye view of the park from high above.”
The land’s dining location will be the Jurassic World Canteen. Shopping will be available at Jurassic World Outfitters, which will offer toys, accessories, and more.

Guests will be able to play at Paddock Play, as well as the previously announced Jurassic World Lookout Towers, and meet a newly hatched baby dinosaur.
Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom
Bikini Bottom attractions include Jellyfish Fields Jamboree. Kids and families will ride their own bouncing Jelly Angler alongside SpongeBob. Enjoy the sights and residents with Barnacle Bus or shoot water cannons as you spin on Bobbing Barrels. Mrs. Puff’s Boating School will take guests on a spin through a boating lesson. Guests can also relax at Mussel Beach.
Goofy Goober’s comes to life as a restaurant offering chicken sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, and “sky-high” sundaes. Pick up sunny day apparel, toys, plush, and more at Barg’N-Mart, housed in a sunken wooden treasure chest. There will be meet and greet opportunities with SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, and Sandy Cheeks.
DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp
The main attraction of DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp is Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After. The ride is built by Shrek to tell the story of how he and Fiona met to their triplets.
Visit Swamp Snacks for food and beverages, including the Shrekzel. Apparel, accessories, and plush will be available at Triplets Treasures.
Guests can also meet Shrek and Fiona, and play in two interactive play areas: Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp and Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.
Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club
Bello Bay Club welcomes guests into the middle of a water battle between Yellow Minions and Purple Minions. Guests will be able to shoot water blasters, play at splash pads, and experience “surprising” water features. Attractions include the Bello Bay Cruise water ride and the Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby.
At Bello Bay Boutique, guests can pick Team Yellow or Team Purple merchandise. They can dine at Bello Bay Bites, which will offer Minion-themed snacks. Of course, there will be a Minion meet and greet.
DreamWorks’ TrollsFest
Guests can party at King Trollex Techno Dance Party, an indoor interactive experience. They can also lead sound check and learn dance moves at a Trolls amphitheater stage show.
Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express will take guests on an armadillo bus ride through the festival grounds. Hair in the Clouds, featuring flower-faced balloons, takes guests high into the sky.
Trolls Eatz! will serve various food items while BroZone Cones will offer ice cream from the boy band. At Sparkle Shine Glitter Glow, guests can become a Troll with the Troll-ify Me! makeover experience. This will be available to kids and adults, and include a Trolls hair-do plus sparkly headbands, apparel, and make-up.
Get concert t-shirts and more souvenirs at Mr. Dinkles’ Market. Guests will be able to meet Poppy, Branch, and the rest of the Trolls, plus play at Poppy’s Playland and Trolls Critter Crawl.
DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar
Join Puss in Boots in Del Mar for Mama Luna’s Adopt a Kitty Day!, a “silly” puppet show. The land’s ride will be Swings Over Del Mar, taking guests up into the air.
Comidas y Leche will offer Puss in Boots-inspired dining. Apparel will be available for purchase at Mercado de Perrito. Tienda de Dulces is a sweets shop offering candies and other treats.
Puss in Boots, Mama Luna, Perrito, and more characters will appear for meet and greets.
Universal also teased multiple “sensory gardens designed to give children and families opportunities to pause, reset, and connect.”
Isle of Curiosity
The Isle of Curiosity is the park’s main entrance area, past the Universal Kids Resort Hotel. Here will be Gabby’s Cat-Tastic Dance Party! inspired by DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse. Chocolate, vanilla, and rainbow cupcakes will be available at Cakey’s Cupcakes.
Universal Kids Resort Café will offer sit-down and grab-and-go food. This area also includes the flagship Universal Kids Resort Store offering Gabby’s Dollhouse merchandise and items from each themed land.
Universal Kids Resort is a place where kids are accepted just as they are, free to dance, dream, and play without limits or judgment. For many, it will be the first time the worlds they’ve only seen on screen come vividly to life — moments that ignite creativity, confidence, and joy. It celebrates all the best parts of being a kid, the laughter, the curiosity, the courage to be unapologetically yourself, and in doing so, invites a new generation into the incredible thrills of Universal.
