The Earl of Sandwich Tavern is now closed, and today is the last day for the Earl of Sandwich location on the east side of Downtown Disney District.
Early of Sandwich Tavern Closed

The Earl of Sandwich Tavern, which opened in March 2023 has now closed. It has also been removed from the Disneyland app and website. The location was open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also served a variety of food outside of sandwiches, including an indoor bar that serves up signature cocktails, beer, wine, and more. The location will be replaced by a new tavern concept at the upcoming new Earl of Sandwich two-story location.
Earl of Sandwich Closing

The location on the east side is housed in the former spot of La Brea Bakery. Earl of Sandwich took over the empty building after La Brea closed in 2023. This move was likely not part of original plans. Porto’s Bakery, a replacement for La Brea, was announced back in 2022. However, construction on the replacement was slow to begin, so Earl of Sandwich chose to utilize the empty building in the meantime.

This closure will allow for construction to begin on the upcoming Porto’s Bakery. The pop-up location of Earl of Sandwich near the Star Wars Trading Post on the west end will remain open for the time being.
New Earl of Sandwich Location

In January of last year, Disney announced that a new, two-story location of Earl of Sandwich was coming with a quick-service shop on the ground level and a table-service option upstairs.

In addition to a light and airy Earl of Sandwich planned for the ground level, the second floor will be home to an all-new table service concept in partnership with Chef Gordon Ramsay, The Carnaby Tavern. The tavern is being designed as an homage to the swinging ‘60s “British Invasion” pop and rock bands from the U.K. The location is set to open this winter.
