November 7 was the last day for the quick-service Earl of Sandwich. The table-service Earl of Sandwich Tavern closed earlier. Signs, menus, tables, and chairs have been removed from the location.

Signs point guests to the pop-up location next to Star Wars Trading Post. They also state, “Something new and exciting coming soon!”

It’s been a years-long saga for the location of Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. The former location closed and was torn down in 2022 as part of the district’s major reimagining. The temporary Earl of Sandwich and table-service Earl of Sandwich Tavern opened in early 2023, taking over the former La Brea Bakery location.

Disney had already announced Porto’s Bakery as a replacement for La Brea months early but construction was delayed. Work was finally set to begin this summer after a July closure of Earl of Sandwich, but was delayed again. With Earl of Sandwich out of the location, construction will hopefully begin soon.

A permanent two-story Earl of Sandwich is already under construction. It will include a quick-service space and Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby, a “British Invasion”-inspired tavern.
