Disney’s networks went dark for YouTube TV subscribers on October 30 as the two companies reached an impasse regarding a new carriage deal. Though negotiations continue, Disney is hoping ABC can be available on YouTube TV for Election Day — Tuesday, November 4.

Despite the impasse that led to the current blackout, we have asked YouTube TV to restore ABC for Election Day so subscribers have access to the information they rely on. We believe in putting the public interest first and hope YouTube TV will take this small step for their customers while we continue to work toward a fair agreement.

Disney executives have said YouTube TV parent company Google isn’t interested in “a fair deal” while a YouTube executive said Disney is “unnecessarily aggressive and assertive.”

YouTube TV said that if Disney channels are unavailable for “an extended period of time,” they will offer subscribers a one-time $20 credit.
