A new nod to the fire chief of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District has been added to Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Fire Chief

The barrel that sits between Mickey’s PhilharMagic and the exit of Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland has been updated to reflect a change in the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. Previously, the barrel featured the name of fire chief Richard LePere Jr. He retired in 2023, but the name has remained until now.

The new fire chief Eric Ferrari, has been in the position since March of 2024. He is now recognized on the barrel denoting the “Lost Boys Fire Brigade.”
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District is the governing body that now oversees the land of Walt Disney World Resort. In early 2023, the Reedy Creek Improvement District was renamed the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and Governor Ron DeSantis appointed a new board, which makes decisions such as the appointment of the fire chief.
