The Disney Destiny has two specialty walkup coffee shops onboard themed to leading ladies, one of which features Megara from Hercules. Café Megara serves coffee, tea, specialty beverages and snacks.
Café Megara
The coffee shop is located on Deck 4, steps away from the Grand Hall. We popped in to see what it looked like.
The color palette throughout the space is mostly lavender, gold, with marble and brass details.
The entrance to the café features a decorative metal gate, inspired by the gates of Mount Olympus, with a circular medallion-style emblem displaying the café’s name and an image of Megara.
Hercules’ medallion is on the back.
The walls are adorned with swirling purple clouds, and the ceiling features a chandelier with lightning rods and clouds.
In the back left corner is a mosaic scene from the movie and a Megara vase.
The walls also have paintings on the wall that look like portraits of various Greek mythology architecture and objects. Hercules and Megara on both on busts. Painted curtains “hang” on each side. The Greco-Disco style really shines here.
The floor has black and white marbled floors that look almost like piano keys. Lavender-colored chairs line the bar, and accessible seating is on the right.
The Muses are represented on the backs of the chairs.
Syrups, toppings, and coffee machines fill the bar area so baristas can make your drink to order.
There are also blue chairs with small tables in between for intimate gatherings.
The menu for Café Megara includes coffee, tea, juice, wine, cocktails, to-go beverages, and specialty drinks.
