“Black Panther 3” To Be Ryan Coogler’s Next Film

“Wakanda forever!” After a few years away from the world of Wakanda, it seems Ryan Coogler is ready to get back.

During a Sinners panel at Deadline‘s Contenders Film: Los Angeles, Oscar award-nominated director Coogler told Mike Fleming Jr. of Deadline that his “next movie” would be the third installment of the Black Panther series.

“If it was anybody but you, I would say, ‘I can neither confirm [nor] deny,’” Coogler told the outlet. “But we’re working on it hard. … Yeah, it’s the next movie.”

Chadwick Boseman’s Walk of Fame Star

Black Panther Chadwick Boseman

The news of Coogler’s forthcoming Black Panther 3 came just a day after Chadwick Boseman’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star would be awarded later this month. Baseman played T’Challa in Black Panther.

Boseman’s posthumous star ceremony will take place on November 20 at 11:30 a.m. ET with Coogler and Viola Davis (from Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) as featured speakers. Ma Rainey was Boseman’s last film, released a few months after his death in August 2020.

Black Panther on the Disney Destiny

The Disney Destiny cruise ship is about to set sail on her maiden voyage, and the centerpiece of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is her Black Panther-inspired Grand Hall. The space prominently features a bronze statue of T’Challa as portrayed by Boseman surrounded by Wakandan-themed design elements.
