Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disneyland Park has been closed for refurbishment since early September and has posted multiple reopening dates since, with the last reported opening date being November 23. However, the Disneyland website today shows that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is operational—that’s three weeks ahead of schedule:

Two people raise their arms in a foggy cave with red and green lights, recalling Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ambiance.

Misters have replaced the waterfall at the top of the first cave climb before the first drop element.

A weathered wooden sign welcomes visitors to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland, surrounded by greenery and lush foliage.

The Disneyland app also shows the ride as being open and accepting Lightning Lane reservations.

A mountain goat holds dynamite on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in a Disney park, rocky ledge and trees reminiscent of Frontierland.

The famous goat named Billy still chewing on a stick of dynamite.

Guests enjoy Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland, zipping through a lit rocky tunnel—not Magic Kingdom’s Florida version.

The middle part of the ride through the mine tunnel with danger and keep out signs.

Guests speed past red rocks and trees, arms up, on Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain—no castle visible like those in Disney parks.
