Animation Courtyard Buildings Get New Paint After Closure

A few of the buildings in the now-closed Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have received new paint.

New Paint

The buildings for both the now-closed Disney Jr. Play and Dance as well as the building for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure have received new paint.

For the building that housed the Disney Jr show, the bottom half of the building has new paint. Previously, it was blue and now it is the same tan/pale yellow as the rest of the building. The photos above and below showcase the before vs after painting.

The building that houses the Little Mermaid show also received new paint. The side facing the courtyard is painted, from the previous blue to the new tan/pale yellow.

The other side, which faces toward the Hub of Hollywood Studios, is still blue.

Future Projects

Most of Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed to guests on September 24, including Star Wars Launch Bay and the Disney Jr. theater. The area is being reimagined as a new space themed to the Walt Disney Studios.

The former Launch Bay building will become a new version of The Magic of Disney Animation, the opening day attraction that Star Wars: Launch Bay replaced. Check out our last look at Animation Courtyard and Star Wars: Launch Bay.

The iconic arch was demolished last month.
