Tom Sawyer Island Water Mill Demolished at Magic Kingdom

Another Tom Sawyer Island building has been demolished, and crews are moving rubble in the Magic Kingdom construction site.

Tom Sawyer Island Demolition

Earlier this week, Aunt Polly’s was demolished in the area of Tom Sawyer Island. There’s now a digger vehicle parked in the drained river, moving debris from the island over to the former Liberty Square Riverboat dock.

From Columbia Harbour House, we could see the empty concrete base that used to house Aunt Polly’s.

Debris is piled in front of the foundation.

Further along the island’s coast, we can no longer see Harper’s Mill, suggesting it has been demolished. This was a water mill that guests could explore.

Trees and blue sky rise above a tan construction wall with guests and umbrellas in front, reminiscent of scenes from Disney Parks.

Potter’s Mill is still standing. In our photo above, you can see the top of the windmill and its white blades through the trees on the left.

The Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America space is being transformed into a Cars-inspired area. Inspired by the Rocky Mountains, this Frontierland expansion will be named Piston Peak National Park. It will include a rally race ride and family-friendly attraction. A preview center for Piston Peak, as well as the upcoming Monsters, Inc. and Tropical Americas lands, recently opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
