Adam Driver isn’t the only speaking out about the failed project, The Hunt for Ben Solo. Steven Soderbergh shares his thoughts on the would-be movie.
The Hunt for Ben Solo

Disney stopped a Star Wars spin-off from happening, even after several big names were involved and a script existed.
In an interview with Associated Press, actor Adam Driver says he “always was interested in doing another Star Wars.” He and director Steven Soderbergh wanted to develop a standalone film that would have taken place after the events of 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker.
Driver revealed that Disney turned it down. And now, Soderbergh is speaking out about the unmade movie. According to Variety, Soderbergh says he did not enjoy keeping the movie a secret from fans.

For the record, I did not enjoy lying about the existence of ‘THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO,’ but it really did need to remain a secret…until now!
He also said this is the first LucasFilm project with a completed movie script to be rejected by Disney. While he is disappointed, he shares that he did enjoy the process.
I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t get to see it.

Driver and Soderbergh aren’t the only ones disappointed. In an act of fan expression, a #TheHuntForBenSolo advertisement has been added to a billboard in New York City’s Times Square.
