Despite returning one week early for a soft reopening, Spaceship Earth is now officially reopened post-refurbishment.
Spaceship Earth Reopens

As seen here, this morning, EPCOT Spaceship Earth guests are lining up and entering the show building for the official reopening of Spaceship Earth.

Spaceship Earth closed on August 25 for a routine refurbishment, meaning general maintenance and upkeep would be performed. Despite a previously announced reopening date of October 25, EPCOT guests were treated to an early reopening on October 18.
Reopening Day Ride Through

The inside of the ride saw no major changes, but on the exterior, a long-broken lighting effect was restored to one of the oval signs. The other sign’s effect has yet to be restored, but sources indicate that it will still be worked on despite the end of the refurbishment. Repainting and panel replacement also occurred near the base of the attraction — including the back section that hosts Project Tomorrow.

Paperboy

The paperboy remains and is still looking towards the back wall.

Inside the geodesic dome is a slow-moving dark ride throughout human history, focusing on the growth of communication and technology around the world.

The sets and figures, including audio animatronics, have been refreshed. One example is the iconic “Thank the Phoenicians” scene. The boats present in the scene are once again moving after a long period stationary presence.
