Do Skittles Make a Good Mickey Ice Cream Bar Topping at Disney World

A new Hand-Dipped Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar available at Walt Disney World features freeze dried Skittles.

The entrance to Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa features white double doors with a sign above. Two black lanterns elegantly adorn the white exterior walls, welcoming guests to indulge in a delightful parfait or two.

This ice cream bar is available from Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Happy Landings Ice Cream at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park, and Anandapur Ice Cream Truck at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

While most of the new Hand-Dipped Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bars are winners, we didn’t like this. It was too sweet and too crunchy. We would rather eat an ice cream bar and a bag of Skittles separately.

A hand holds a chocolate-dipped Mickey Ice Cream Bar topped with Skittles, perfect for a Disney park day, red flowers blurred behind.

The full Skittles don’t stick well to the bar, so you end up getting a lot of candy powder. The sweet chocolate doesn’t mix well with the sour Skittles either.

Overall, you might like this more than we did if you really like sour and sweet flavors together. However, we would say this is the weakest of the new Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar options so far.
