Robert Irwin, son of the late Steve Irwin, is voicing a koala version of himself in Zootopia 2.

Irwin announced his role on Instagram with a video taken outside the Roy E. Disney Animation Building. He said he had just watched his scene in Zootopia 2. He voices the koala Robert Furwin. No other details surrounding Irwin’s koala character have been revealed yet.
The announcement coincided with Disney Night of Dancing With the Stars, on which Irwin is currently competing.
Like his father “The Crocodile Hunter,” Irwin is a zookeeper, conservationist, and TV personality. His mother, Terri Irwin, owns the Australia Zoo where he and his sister Bindi work.
Zootopia 2 sees the return of Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde. The sequel follows Judy and Nick as they investigate a case related to the appearance of Gary De’Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan, in Zootopia.
The cast also includes returning voice actors Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, Shakira as Gazelle, Maurice LaMarche as Mr. Big, and Raymond S. Persi as Flash the Sloth. New cast members include Fortune Feimster as Nibbles, Quinta Brunson as Dr. Fuzzby, Patrick Warburton as Mayor Winddancer, Andy Samberg as Pawbert Lynxley, Macaulay Culkin as Cattrick Lynxley, Brenda Song as Kitty Lynxley, David Strathairn as Milton Lynxley, and Danny Trejo as Jesús.
Thanks to recordings from Zootopia, the late Tommy “Tiny” Lister Jr.’s voice will return as Finnick.
The film also took inspiration from Zootopia Land in Shanghai Disneyland, which opened in 2023. It’s directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard. Yvett Merino is producing.
