The new guard shack at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is nearing completion. New windows and a door have been installed, along with other completed tasks.
Guard Shack

In our previous update, the guard shack’s framework received sheathing, creating actual walls and a roof. While the roof is not complete, a portion of the exterior walls is now covered in a dark gray stone-like material.

The roof is similar in shape to the porte-cochere of the resort, and the archways have been painted a bright orange.

In addition to the progress made on the walls and roof, a new door has been installed at the entrance to the guard shack, along with some of the windows all around the building.
The installed pieces have clear plastic coverings with red tape, while several crew members work on installing more windows and completing other tasks on the roof.

Construction on the new entrance and other Polynesian improvement projects will continue through 2026. The front entrance roadway and bus entrance are being reconfigured in an effort to help alleviate congestion in the area.
