Kate McKinnon will join Percy Jackson and the Olympians as Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love of beauty.

The SNL star will be a recurring guest star in season 3 of the Disney+ show. An official character description states Aphrodite “can alter her appearance depending on the beholder” and “must be sure that Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) respects the power and importance of love before she agrees to offer aid on his quest” (via Variety).
In addition to 10 years as an SNL cast member, McKinnon is known for her roles in Bombshell (2019), Yesterday (2019), the 2016 Ghostbusters, Barbie (2023), and Peacock’s Joe vs. Carole (2022).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a Disney+ series based on the Rick Riordan book series. Riordan co-created the TV series with Jonathan E. Steinberg, who is showrunner with Dan Shotz.
The main cast includes Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. It also stars Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue and Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, who will both be upgraded from recurring in season 1 to main cast in season 2.
Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie will join the cast as will play Nico and Bianca di Angelo in season 3.
Season 1, based on the first Percy Jackson book The Lightning Thief, premiered on Disney+ in late 2023. Season 2 based on the sequel The Sea of Monsters will air on December 10, 2025. That will be followed by a third season based on the third book, The Titan’s Curse.
