A Figment animatronic on Journey Into Imagination in EPCOT has been replaced.
Figment Replaced
This is the second Figment animatronic on the ride, located on a platform next to the entrance to the touch and taste labs. Reportedly, the regular animatronic is receiving refurbishment.
This “new” Figment animatronic has been going viral because of how different it looks from its more modern counterparts. Above is the replacement animatronic side by side with the regular animatronic. The figure has considerably less movement and looks “chubbier” than the regular animatronic. He’s still wearing his yellow sweater, although it doesn’t seem to fit quite right.

The figure seems to be modeled after one from the original 1983 Journey Into Imagination.
It’s likely that this is a temporarily placeholder but it may be a permanent change. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates.
