In the latest report from the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Melissa has now intensified to a Category 5 hurricane.


The most recent report from the National Hurricane Center has maximum sustained winds of 160 mph. Damaging winds and storm surge are expected to have a significant impact on Jamaica, with extensive infrastructural damage and power loss expected.
Heavy rainfall of up to 40 inches of rain could fall in Jamaica, along with a storm surge of 9 to 13 feet, Monday night into Tuesday morning.
According to the Weather Channel, “Hurricane Melissa is now a Category 5 storm as it begins a catastrophic, historic, multiday strike on Jamaica with life-threatening flash flooding, landslides, destructive winds and storm surge.”
Landfall in Jamaica is expected around 8:00 am on Tuesday Morning. A Category 5 hurricane is identified by winds over 157 mph.
Disney Wish Itinerary

Itineraries for cruises on both the Disney Treasure and Disney Wish have been altered due to Hurricane Melissa.
The upcoming itinerary for the October 17 sailing of the Disney Wish has been altered due to the storm. The previous Day at Sea and Castaway Cay days have been swapped. The new itinerary is as follows:
- Monday, October 27, 2025: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Tuesday, October 28, 2025: Disney Castaway Cay
- Wednesday, October 29, 2025: Nassau, The Bahamas
- Thursday, October 30, 2025: Day at Sea
- Friday, October 31, 2025: Port Canaveral, Florida
Disney Treasure Itinerary

Although guests are already sailing on the Disney Treasure, which left port on October 27, their itinerary has been changed. The ship will visit Cozumel, Mexico, on Tuesday, and Disney Castaway Cay on Thursday and Friday, instead of visiting Tortola and St. Thomas. The new itinerary is below:
- Saturday, October 25, 2025: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Sunday, October 26, 2025: Day at Sea
- Monday, October 27, 2025: Day at Sea
- Tuesday, October 28, 2025 : Cozumel, Mexico (previously Tortola, British Virgin Islands)
- Wednesday, October 29, 2025: Day at Sea (previously St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands)
- Thursday, October 30, 2025: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea)
- Friday, October 31, 2025: Disney Castaway Cay
- Saturday, November 1, 2025 : Port Canaveral, Florida
Guests received a message after embarkation alerting them to these changes.
Port Adventures previously booked by guests will be removed from guest accounts, and those traveling can rebook through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or visit the Port Adventures Desk on either ship.
Tropical storm conditions altered a Disney Wish sailing last month, and a Disney Treasure itinerary changed due to Hurricane Erin in August.
