Universal Destinations & Experiences revealed details of the themed lands that will make up Universal Kids Resort, opening in Frisco, Texas in 2026.
Universal Kids Resort Lands

Universal Kids Resort is specifically designed and developed for families with young children. Universal previously confirmed the themes of each land but has now announced their official names:
- DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp
- DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar
- Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club
- Jurassic World Adventure Camp
- DreamWorks’ TrollsFest
- Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom
- Isle of Curiosity
Universal Kids Resort embodies the spirit of igniting thrill that drives everything we create — designed to bring our youngest guests and families together through play, creativity, and beloved characters and stories. It’s a destination made for kids and, as a regional theme park, brings Universal’s signature storytelling to families close to home.
Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative
The park is full of interactive areas and elements. Team members will help kids “dream up imaginary worlds” with sidewalk chalk. Guests will also be able to play with water blasters and bubble blowers.
We envisioned this park through the unbridled creativity of kids where infinite imagination, curiosity and free-spirited play were core to our design philosophies. It produced a park that’s pure joy and an absolute celebration of what it is to be a kid.
Brian Robinson, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer at Universal Creative
There will be multiple sensory gardens designed to give children and families opportunities to “pause, reset, and connect.” These calming spaces invite guests to explore through touch, sound, and color in nature-inspired settings.
Isle of Curiosity & Universal Kids Resort Hotel

Isle of Curiosity is the entrance area of Universal Kids Resort, described as “a whimsical gateway with space for kids to explore.” Gabby from DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse will appear in this space for a meet and greet and dance party.
Universal Kids Resort Hotel will serve as the park’s entrance. This is a colorful 300-room hotel “just steps away from the park.”
Shrek’s Swamp

At DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Shrek has created a play area for his triplets where human kids can also play. Guests will be able to meet Shrek and Fiona, plus take photos in their onion carriage. The land will have two play areas: Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp and Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.
Puss in Boots Del Mar

In DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, guests can meet the titular hero, as well as Mama Luna, Perrito, and friends. The land will have carnival games like Barriles de Leche and El Gato’s Meow. Concept art shows a swing ride.
Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club

Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club is a water-based land inspired by the competition between Yellow and Purple Minions. It will feature interactive play areas and Minions meet and greets. The concept art depicts a water raft ride.
Jurassic World Adventure Camp

In Jurassic World Adventure Camp, little ones can meet dinosaurs and explore climbing areas. The concept art shows rope bridges spanning Lookout Towers, plus a roller-coaster and a drop tower in the background.

Universal said guests will meet newly-hatched baby dinosaurs.
TrollsFest

At DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, guests can meet Poppy, Branch, and more Trolls at a glittery meet and greet. The two interactive play areas will be Poppy’s Playland and Trolls Critter Crawl. Concept art showcases a nature-inspired play area, a balloon ride, and a roller-coaster.
SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom

Meet SpongeBob, Patrick Star, and Sandy Cheeks in Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. Kids can explore Mussel Beach or play in Pineapple Paradise. The latter appears to be depicted in the concept art above, which includes SpongeBob’s pineapple house in the middle of a water play area.
