Freakier Friday Gets Disney+ Release Date

Disney+ is about to get a whole lot freakier as the body-switching comedy Freakier Friday comes to streaming later this fall.

Freakier Friday

Two people in pajamas stand in a bedroom, both with hands on cheeks and mouths open in surprise, as if they've stumbled into a scene from Freakier Friday.

A sequel to the 2003 hit comedy starring Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman and Lindsay Lohan as her daughter Anna, Freakier Friday was released on August 8, 2025. Like in the original film, the women switch bodies, but instead of just two people, four end up changing places. Besides Anna and Tess, Anna’s daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Lily (Sophia Hammons) are also thrown into the mix.

The 2003 film was a remake of the original Disney film, circa 1976, starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster.

Disney+ Release Date

A large screen at an event shows three images of women: one with a disco ball, one in pajamas reacting, and one in a car. It feels like scenes from a Freaky Friday sequel. Two people stand on stage in front of the screen with an audience watching attentively.

We previously reported that Freakier Friday will release digitally on October 7, 2025 and then November 11, 2025 on physical versions like 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Now we can add another date to the list: November 12! That’s when the movie will be released on Disney+ for all subscribers to stream.

In addition to Freakier Friday, you can also currently watch both the 1976 and the 2003 versions of Freaky Friday on Disney+.

Disney already announced a Disney+ streaming date for The Fantastic Four: First Steps as well.
