Another flood watch has been issued for several locations in Central Florida, including the area that covers Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.
Flood Watch Issued for Central Florida

Disney World and other Central Florida locations are under a flood watch today, October 27. According to the NWS Forecast Office in Melbourne, other affected areas include Daytona Beach, Sanford, Leesburg, Kissimmee, Melbourne, and Kenansville. It is expected to last through 8:00 p.m. today, October 27.
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, located approximately 100 miles from Disney World, is not under a flood watch currently.

Locations that previously received significant rainfall are susceptible to more rainfall today. Heavy rain may produce flash flooding and flooding of low-lying areas, and swales may fill. It’s important that travelers do not attempt to drive through flooded or closed roads.
This is the second time the Orlando area, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, has been under a Flood Watch this week. Yesterday, October 26, most of the same area was under a similar watch.
Hurricane Melissa is also growing in the Caribbean, causing altered itineraries for the Disney Cruise Line. Although the Flood Watch is likely unrelated to the hurricane, Central Florida will likely see some rain and possible storms over the next week related to the weather system.
