The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the 37th film overall in the connected Marvel Cinematic Universe. Premiering in theaters on July 25, 2025, the film features Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Joseph Quinn).

The film is set in an alternate, retro-futuristic universe where Marvel’s first family must “balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond” as they defend Earth from “ravenous space god” Galactus. In a surprise for Disney Parks fans, the film includes a reference to Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park with the song Nation on Wheels from the Disneyland PeopleMover playing during one of the scenes.

The film debuted to an opening weekend box office of $118 million. Per Variety, the film now stands at a gross of “$521 million at the worldwide box office over the summer.”

The film first became available for purchase on streaming platforms on September 23, followed by a 4K Ultra HD (Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos), Blu-ray, and DVD physical release on October 14.

According to a new post from Variety, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will officially start streaming for all Disney+ subscribers starting on November 5, 2025.
